Warning: seller was paying for "rave reviews" on amazon. But it's a good product.
I just wanted to say, this is a good product. It stays in the vent and doesn't require any modifications to your vehicle to use. The phone attaches pretty securely even though I have an Otter Box phone case which adds a bit of thickness to my phone case, thus distance from the magnets. it's easier to use than other mounting systems I've used. That's my unbiased review. However, be careful what you read: the SELLER PAYS PEOPLE TO WRITE "RAVING REVIEWS" ON Amazon. With my box came a slip of paper saying "all you have to do to win this gift card is to write a raving review." That's totally unethical. So you should not believe my good review or any others you see here. But for what it's worth, I would buy this again.2016-01-24 FOLLOWUP: Please see the seller's response to this comment for their side of this story. They say "In July 2015 we already changed our insert, clearly saying that we only want honest and unbiased reviews to make our product even better. In our next shipment this insert is even removed." I cannot confirm or deny that they did this. Just want to make sure this review is fair, because my review is now voted "most helpful" and is impacting their sales.

Not the best for vertical vents
This cell phone holder works well and has high magnetic power. You can put the magnetic piece beneath your cell phone cover and it will still hold your phone securely. The only thing I did not like about it, and still do not like about it, is that the vents in my Ford Escape are vertical vents. And if your vents are not very stiff to move to begin with... The weight of the phone, when you go around corners, will cause the vents to flop back and forth and consequently your phone goes with it. So everytime I go around a corner the phone is flopping back and forth. I really don't like that at all but I don't want something glued to my dash either. Just something to consider. After having this for several months now I just wanted to add to this review. I would definitely not recommend this cell phone holder for anyone with vertical vents. I noticed the ball attachment, although stiff when first purchased is now not stiff at all. Which means the flopping effect is even worse as the phone will not even stay in the upright position because the swivel 360 ball is now very loosey-goosey. Also because of the design of this and the way it attaches to the vents the holder itself sticks out from the vents a good 3 in which also contributes to the floppiness. My recommendation... If you have vertical vents just find another one this one is not good.

Great mount!!!
For reference: I use this mount for a iPhone 6plus in my Mazda3.I recently gave my other vent phone mount to my dad and regretted it. So I came to Amazon to buy another one. I came across this one and saw that it had great reviews and I liked the swivel feature.I ordered and it came on the day it was promised. It was nicely packaged in a recycled box with a note containing company info and instructions.I like that it came with 2 metal plates without the adhesive and the option of 1 with adhesive (3 total). It also came with 3 clear "films" to protect your phone from being scratched by the plate.I actually used one no adhesive plate and used the film to attach it to the inside of my case and it's stayed in the same place. My case is clear with a white design and the plate doesn't look bad even tho it can be seen. The plate isn't as thick as my last mount used so the phone sits in the case I use without any bulging like my last mount. It's actually stronger than the last one too.The swivel is my most favorite part. I tightened the knob so that I can still move/tilt my phone without it drooping. The grip that you put into the vent is secure and tight and doesn't budge when I do tilt my phone. Having a magnetic mount is great... I love not having something hanging from my windshield or something stuck to my dash.I will be buying another one for my husband because he liked this one better than the other one too.Disclaimer: I included pictures.. sorry their not even close to being professional:)

Works well for me
Mounting on the car vent: The Vano Magnetic Car Mount attaches to a car vent with rubber coated prongs that hold it securely to a vane on the vent. Two different thicknesses of vanes are accommodated by rotating the mount 90 degrees before sliding onto the vent. This works really well for me. It does block the vent, but if you position the mount on the bottom vane to one side or another, you can still get plenty of air flow.Magnetic phone attachment: The mount on the car vent has several strong magnets that hold the phone. If the phone or phone case aren't made of steel (most aren't), there are three thin metal plates supplied in the package that you place on the phone to hold it to the magnets. One plate has a self-adhesive backing for attaching to the back of the phone (or case), and the other two designed to slip in between the phone and the phone case. I put all three side-by-side into my phone case to get a broader surface area for mounting my phone. The magnetic mount is strong enough to hold my iPhone 6 Plus securely without sliding. Beware, though, that the phone can fall off the mount if you press on the edge or corner of the phone hard enough to tip the phone and break the magnetic bond.Phone mounting angle: The angle of the phone can be adjusted by loosening a knurled ring on the back of the magnetic mount and tightened securely to hold even my big phone. You can't adjust the angle without removing the mount from the car vent, though. But overall that's okay since the phone doesn't flip around like many other mounts I have tried to use in the past.Final judgment: The Vano mount works well for me, even with my large iPhone 6 Plus. I have only had it a few days, so if wear, heat, cold, etc. change how it works over time, I will update this review.
