Absolutely fantastic! Jex finds an impressive way to show depression as a physical change as well as a mental one, in a way that's completely relatable. If I didn't have work, I would have read it all in one sitting. As it was, I was up way too late, determined to see how everything worked out. This is a darker book with some pretty serious themes that might hit others in the wrong way, but they felt like they -needed- to be part of the book for the main character's growth, not just tossed in there for fun. Jex has definitely been added to my list of "Authors I Adore"!

Broken, is the 3rd book in a series 1st you need to read Captive and Sire. This is my favorite book in the series so far. I don't want to give away the plot but get this book now!The author writes so well and so vividly that you care about all the major characters and many of the minor ones. You may want to hug some or kill some ( or both to the same person ) but you will care what happens to them.Besides an incredible story, the books are well written which makes them even more fun to read

5 "Absolute Stunning* Stars The Best One Yet!
The Best One Yet!An Intense Ride That I never want to get off!!Mrs. Lane is an absolute Brilliant storyteller in my honest opinion. She Makes you think the storyline is going in One Direction, laughs in your face while she flips you upside-down then sends your ass 180° Direction. So then you think "Okay I know how this author thinks so I bet 'blah-blah-blah' will happen." She laughs again, flips u back ass up & and sends you in a 90-degree directions before you can even think where it's going she flips you face 1st into a 45° angle. Sometimes she feels sorry for you and decides to give something and allows your theories come to fruition. Now ya'll might be smarter than me & figure things out. Well Where's the fun in that?I love that this author was consciousness enough to give comedy relief inside and intense book. There are some really laugh out loud parts of this book that are definately needed due to the intense ride you are thrown on. This has some really dark elements. You see characters that you love tortured. There are Non Con, horrific torture & neglect. While they struggle, they loose hope & it Kills You. This story stabs you in your heart!I loved seeing Tarrick & Matthew together again. I loved where this story goes. I hate having to wait do long for the next book but would rather Ms. Lane take her time & do it right than giving us a story that is not done. Besides you can't rush perfection. And to me, That's what this book was. Absolute Perfection!

So glad I bought it! *warning:spoilers*
I almost didn’t buy this book because I read the reviews, and I knew there was going to be more torture and more non consensual master/slave relationships, but I’m glad I did because this book was so good and important to the plot build up and Matthew’s realizing that he needs to step up and be involved in this world and it’s issues. This book was so frustrating. Everyone pisses me off, except Matthew(he is so forgiving it’s ridiculous, like how is he not more angry at everyone) and Samantha (she is a badass). Does anyone else prefer the vampires to the incubi because the incubi are the worst. I’m am so sick of Matthew feeling guilty about compelling Silva (don’t get me wrong; I love her), and her making him out to be awful. She was his captor who would have tortured and killed him if she were ordered to, even though she liked him as a friend. She deserved it! Roseline is, basically, telling Matthew to suck it up. Tarrick, Hiroto, and Prescott(omg, I hate him) are spineless and too scared to think for themselves, and Lily, OMG, I’m so annoyed. I can’t believe her! She’ll get more development though.Malarath and Prescott are the worst. However, Malarath is interesting and his devotion to Apep/Devak kinda gets to me.Matthew and Tarrick’s relationship development was great. I don’t know if Tarrick is falling for Matthew or not. I honestly think Matthew is more of a fetish for Tarrick because Tarrick is in to strong, warrior types. Idk, I Ship it, but at the same time I think Tarrick isn’t good for Matthew. I’m glad he and Hiroto were useful in the end.Devak’s back! Yah! I love him! I can’t wait for the next book!

Exciting urban fantasy!
4 1/2 stars! This, and the previous book, didn't reach the emotional height and great love I felt for the first book. But I still really enjoyed it, and I think as a whole, this is one of the most exciting Adult Urban Fantasies out there. I so can't wait for book 4, this book ends on quite the precipice of War (and romantic complications) - I knew by the time I hit 90%, there was no way this was going to conclude yet (cue internal scream). This was another dark, torturous captive/slave story that held ME captive from the prologue. There were some very horrible things that I had to take a break from, yet I found I couldn't read anything else. Anything light to lift my mood seemed weak in comparison, such was the strength of this writing. Having said that, I would like to see the author take time in laying the foundations for the emotional hits I felt in book 1, I felt the author could have dug deeper for Matthews feelings and emotions, Even Tarrick - I didn't feel the depth of feelings and grief that I could have. But, I was in awe of the world building, there was a lot happening, and I adored getting to know favourite characters even better.I went into this Series thinking it was going to be an m/m romantic paranormal series. (Snort!) There is nothing romantic about this series. It's as romantic as Tiffany Reisz's Original Sinners series. It's as sexually open. And sexually diverse. In a succubus world, they feed off sexual energy from any gender. The characterisation of Succubus and vampires in these books are incredible, and how they use humans, other creatures...My desire for Matthew and Tarrick to just get the f*** together is still strong as ever, but I'm actually not sure if that's going to happen after how this book ended - complications... Their chemistry and times together (yet not 'together') have been my favourite parts of these books.I still have no idea where this Series is going to go, yet I'm here for it.
