Decent, but slow to read and broke very easily.
After my last meat thermometer stopped working, I had to search for another one. It appears to be very high quality and I was pleased when I took a look at it. It is easy to use for even the most amateur cooks. The thermometer is quite slow though, it takes a while for the correct temperature to display and I'm often having to waste energy and heat by leaving the oven door open for a prolonged period of time while the thermometer tries to figure out the right temperature. My biggest gripe is how delicate this thing is. I dropped it within the first couple of weeks of use and the probe came apart from the plastic part. The wire that is used to determine the temperature was still attacked to the plastic piece, but it continued to work. It still works, but if I forget to carefully and slowly pull out the probe, the whole thing comes apart. I didn't drop it from a high distance and I think that it broke too easily.

Not Accurate and a bit fragile
I thought I'd grab a thermometer to put a little more precision in my grilling. Last night was the first chance I got to use the new thermometer, so I put some steaks on the grill, cooked my steaks up to about 105 F, then tossed them over to the direct heat for a quick sear and pulled them off when I read about 115-120 F. Excited for my "perfect" steak I cut in and didn't even see the slightest bit of pink in the steak. They were completely well-done which means the thermometer had to have been a good 20-30 degrees off. Then when I brought it inside I accidentally dropped it on the floor when I was wiping it off and it broke in two (yeah, that's mostly on me). Oh well, I tossed it and will go back to just cooking by instinct and feel which was working just fine before. I gave it an extra star because I'm nice and at least it turned on?

I bought this thermometer because of its lifetime warranty. Unfortunatly, I failed to limit it's instant readout, and let the thermometer remain in the hot grill while it was reaching my target temperature. The thermometer is not designed for continuous exposure to heat. Although there was no mention of this. So I destroyed the unit on my first attempt to use it, even though it accurately gave me the correct internal temperature, so my steaks were perfect, even though the head melted due to extended heat exposure.The good news is the Sellars fully backed the unit and sent me a new unit . CUSTOMER service was quick and very friendly. I get the impression that you will never have to buy another digital thermometer, once you purchase this one.I'm very confident in the credibility of the lifetime warranty.I'm a 70 year old retired engineer...baring the extended heat issue...this is a high quality, fully functional and extremely accurate digital thermometer.

Works great
This is a really nice digital meat thermometer. It provides accurate temperatures fast and easy to use. The only thing I don't care for is that it doesn't stop changing temperatures after the time it takes to get proper reading unless you push the hold after the 8 sec to get proper temperature. This poses a problem if you aren't paying attention to it after you push it into the meat. I love that it has a lifetime warranty and that it works fast. Overall, it is a very good product that I would recommend to anyone.

Couple of things that I do not like:1. The display is small. It is a little over an inch wide. Would love for it to be bigger. And I don't have bad eyesight.2. It says "temperature readings in seconds". Not True. I grill almost on a nightly basis and I count on my thermometer to be fast because I do not want to lose the heat from the grill. To measure a cooked chicken breast of 165 degrees, it took close to 12 seconds. Way to long in my opinion. My last one took no longer than 5 seconds.3. The probe. This thing is thick. You want a nice hole pierced through your food? Then this is the product for you.4. The buttons on the display are small...understandably so because the display is so small. However, Kanbrook did a good job about making them as easy as they could to press.Overall, Not Satisfied and I will be returning. I can look past all of the drawbacks except for the fact that it takes so long to get a measurement.

It works great
It was delivered on time. The product works fine. The feeling of pressing the top to turning it on is kind of cheap. I don't other similar products to compare and am not sure how long it will last.

My meat is much more tender now that I know the correct temperature at which I am cooking it. So glad I bought it although I am not sure how long it will last. I dropped it and tit separated, but I put it back together and it seems to be working just fine still.

This thermometer actually works!
Five star product! Works very quickly and accurately. I have been buying old-style thermometers for years and never could trust them. So happy to have the Kanbrook and to know it is registering accurately. Also the company sent me a free e-book on how to grill which will be most useful.
