Very Important to Understand yourself and the way you do things.
Amazing self help book that really helps to understand why you do things the way you do. Why people can burn out. How to understand your relationships and the people around you. And understanding team building and teamwork. To me it is one of the biggest breakthroughs in understanding interpersonal relations that there has been. I never considered before reading Kolbe books that these are hardwired traits and not necessarily learned or just like your parents. There are a whole series of books by Kolbe and you can see her theories are evolving also, or at least her descriptions are evolving and the practical applications are evolving.

What is your conative strength?
This book will help you become more self aware of yourself. I took the Kolbe A test and got 4475. I might retake it again later in the future to check for consistency. So the test says I'm high on Quickstart and Implementor instincts also known as the Pioneer archetype. I was struggling on trying to find a career that matches my talents and reading this provided some insight to make a strategic decision. It's a good investment since we all spend most of our days working.

Valuable information we should all have!!!
I cannot say enough about Kathy Kolbe and the Conative Connection. To know how you attack problems, and those around you do, is invaluable. After becoming knowledgeable about this theory, I have matched my office staff to increase productivity and communication with the Kolbe-A test. Even my husband and I have improved our relationship with this knowledge.

Interesting info but not practical in today's job market
An insigthful book to see how you're wired but you have to pay to get the actual test on the site. If you also want the career test, it will cost you $130 total. While the info is useful (I made up my own assessment), it's not practical in the real world. I've found most companies are looking for people high in follow through (in other words following rules and filling out spreadsheets). Someone like me, high in quick start and fact finding is pretty much out in the cold. And if they knew my score might not hire me. In my experience, most companies really don't care what your strengths are unless they have a specific job opening that fits them. If they don't, you're out the door.

This approach really works.
Fantastic book. A real life changer for me. But, remember it's guide that was never intended to be used as a know-all, be-all kind of tool.

It's evidence-free in its approach and reads more like a self-help book than an instructional text
This is an area of educational psychology that really should be explored more, but this text leaves some to be desired. It's evidence-free in its approach and reads more like a self-help book than an instructional text.

Great book
A very interesting and insightful read into the realms of personality and psychometric testing. Who knew that these things tell us what way we will instinctively and innately act

Understanding your Kolbe is a game changer
As always since discovering my Kolbe A index years ago and deep diving and expanding my knowledge of conation, I'm surprised how I functioned properly before unlocking my 4 Kolbe numbers! A wonderful read and a must for those wanting the key to the next level in life.
