Works Great! Heads up on how to fix...
I just received my Logitech Pure Fi Express Plus. I played it three times with my iPhone 3G and loved it! When I tried to play it a fourth time, no sound would come out. My iPod on my phone was playing, but nothing was coming out of the speakers. I did the troubleshooting: make sure it's plugged in; sync your phone and download the latest iTunes; make sure the power is on and the volume is up; blamed my husband since he was the last one to touch it (his wife is writing the review). Nothing worked. I called Logitech's Customer Support and spoke to Sam. Within 10 minutes, it was working again! What Sam told me was that when the batteries died (I was using both batteries and the AC adapter), that the system shut down. He said dead batteries and a plugged in AC adapter is very bad for iPods/iPhones/other devices. He said it could literally fry the units. He told me to remove the batteries and reset the speaker system by holding both the shuffle and repeat buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. Doing so causes all sorts of lights and numbers to start blinking. Wait until you get to the five second count down and the clock reappears. Your system has now been reset! And, voila! I have sound coming out of my speakers again!

Great Product
I received one of these for a birthday a year or so ago and loved it. I enjoyed being able to take it anywhere, outside or in. It was easy to move and a great sound. Sadly, I was not smart and left it outside when it was raining and it ruined it. I was without it for a while. I missed it so much. When I had saved up money and was looking for a replacement system, I was looking at all different speaker systems that were portable like this Logitec and found that this very same system was the only one I wanted. It was so much better quality than iHome systems and the like. So, I replaced my old with a new system that was the exact same.It has amazing sound with the four speakers for surround sound feel. It puts out so much sound for such a little system. I love that it charges my iPod but when it is on battery it does not take up the batteries to charge the iPod, exactly what I was hoping would happen. Super simple to use.The only reason that I put a four star for value of money is because ALL iPod speaker systems like this are more expensive than I think they should be, but it is still a great price comparatively.

DOA on IPOD connection with no simple solution
I bought this for my son's ipod and having had other Logitech products felt somewhat safe buying this and looking over the reviews. This is not worth the money. It is does not much in the way of functionality and because it was unable to connect to the ipod via the ipod connector I am giving it a one star (first ever). I got the unit to play via my own audio jack, but that defeats the purpose of having an ipod connection. Very disappointing in Logitech and the fact that reviews were so high on this site.

Good Sound but not real portable.
My wife wanted a speaker system for her iPod that could be used portable if needed. As with all audio equipment, my first recommendation is try them out at a store first. Audio equipment is pretty subjective so it is best you hear them for yourself. We tried a bunch of different portable iPod/iPhone speaker systems at Target and Best buy, and out of all the ones in the sub $100 category, this one far surpassed most in the power and tone of the audio. Most portable speaker systems have a sharper tinnier sound due to the smaller speakers. We found the Pure-Fi produced much more powerful audio and had a warmer color to the tone.I really liked the fact that it came with a remote that can control basic settings and stores nicely in the back where the built-in handle is. We found several other speakers charged as much as $50 separately for the remote. Although it does have a clock on it, the display is pretty small, so this definitely is not intended to be used as a clock radio. The speaker system works great if you want something to use around the house or office with the ability to not have to plug it in all the time. I don't necessary recommend it as a "portable" speaker system though. Although the audio sounds nice and full, it is a fair bit larger than other comparable "portable" systems. Because the iPod/iPhone sit on top of the speaker system, it would make it challenging to carry it while the ipod is still docked. In the end my wife decided she wanted something smaller, so we got the JBL Onstage speakers. Much smaller and still with an included remote. It doesn't have quite the power that the Pure-Fi does, but the audio is actually crisper.

Awesome sound, easy to use, and compact!
I bought this for my iPhone 4 so I could listen to music and have a loud alarm for my dorm room, and I LOVE IT! It is so convenient to use, and it also charges my phone at the same time, which is awesome. The dock also comes with different adapters so you can plug different iPods into the speaker, but the iPhone can just be placed right on there. The little remote is also super handy. The sound is really nice and loud for such a compact system, and I really have no complaints. I listen to music all the time in my dorm, and it can get pretty loud. You can also use a cable to plug in other devices and listen to music from there which is nice as well. It's also nice to dock my phone before I go to sleep, that way my alarm, or an incoming call, goes off through the speakers and wakes me up.Like I said, I have no complaints. I live in a small room and this system does not take up more space than necessary, while emitting a pretty awesome sound. I'd definitely recommend it to any student looking for an iPod docking system with a clock and alarm.
