HP brand does perform better than lower cost substitutes.
After trying several off brand, lower priced ink cartridges for our HP 8600 series printer that did not perform well at all, we have decided that the hassle over lower cost vs. print performance was not working for us and we will pay more for the HP brand product...though I still believe that the HP brand is over priced.

Ink was dried out -- Not properly stored in warehouse
In addition to the fact that this ink is so expensive and hp printers only work exclusively with hp printers, I was disappointed to find that the ink ran out extremely fast. I ordered this ink at the end of February. After only using it for a few print jobs, it ran out in May. Lasted for about 2.5 months when usually full ink cartridges could last me 6 months or more even with regular use.Attaching pictures of how the package looked when it arrived. I'm going to bet it was not stored properly in the warehouse and therefore, it dried out quickly. Very upset. It costs a lot of money and ink should be stored in a properly cooled place before shipping.
