For idle thumbs on lockdown
A friend suggested lock picking at a festival last year and since the lockdown has reminded me of it. I am very glad that she did! Having a slightly unusual skill is fascinating to me and the booklet that comes along with the guide is excellent, although I have only read about one lock so far.It gives you the basics on the two locks provided, using a few of the tools, and allowing you to go out and try different locks (legal ones that is!). The clear sides are great for the visuals of the locks and with the booklet you can see how it all works using the keys. Once you've mastered a visual pick, you can go a step further and use the silicone cover, going by sound and feel. Its a great feeling once you've cracked it!I like that you are advised to keep the sturdy cardboard box provided, keeping all your basic kit together. It also comes with a great little zip up pouch with pockets for each individual pick, and a hand tool allowing you to fasten them.I have no regrets buying this product, only that there aren't enough locks to practice on in our house! So, I will be looking to purchase more training locks from Unlock Curious.

A good lock pick set, when the picks fit... [FIXED]
EDIT:After posting the review below the sellers got in touch with me and unprompted sent out a full replacement. This level of customer service is admirable and the team at Curious Smith should be commended. The replacement set was much better and the picks were by far a much better fit. 100% would use these sellers again simply for their level of service and attention.I am a complete beginner at lockpicking, never even picked up a pick before. After some time reading the provided guide book and understanding the locks I got to pick. The first thing I noticed was the 2 provided top of the keyway tension wrenches (the hockey sticks) do not actually fit into any of the practice locks keyways. I had to deviate from the guide and used the perfectly suitable bottom of the keyway tension wrench. After picking for over an hour I felt comfortable with the basic picks and wanted to try some of the other selection provided in this kit. It is super easy to change picks and they feel really solid in the grip if they fit. Unfortunately, only 5 of the 12 picks fit comfortably in the screw section, 1 pick will go in with a bit of force and the other 6 need to be held by hand rather than using the pick holder. It looks like the base of the picks are actually too wide to allow the screw to pass over them to secure them into position. As a beginner, I have no idea if these picks are of a more advanced nature anyway as I haven't needed them to pick the practice locks supplied.Overall, I would recommend this set but be aware of the fitting of some of these picks isn't perfect, I count myself lucky that the basic picks needed fit without much issue. Although the picks affected on mine weren't used this could quite easily affect the basic picks.Pro'sGuide Book2 Acrylic Locks makes for a great teaching aid and allows for 3 different problems to masterHandy storage caseCon'sIll-fitting picks (6 out of 12)Ill-fitting tension wrenches (2 out of 5)

A good starting point
I still can't pick our desk drawer with the missing key, but I at least understand the process better now! It's a good starter kit, and the two transparent locks are fantastic for understanding lock mechanisms. The only criticism, if that's fair at all, is that the supplied handle for the rakes is a bit annoying and they can slip out if you're tugging hard. But I wouldn't expect much different for tools at this price point. Overall it's an excellent set for starting out.

Great Starter Set
Great Starter Set, i decised to learn to pick locks a while back and after looking through countless sellers i decided to go with this one and must say i am glad i did. The set includes 11 picks not including the broken key extractor, the selection of picks is great especially for a novice picker, the pick are constructed aturdily and seem to be able to take a lot of abuse. The included transparent locks while they are a great tool for learning the inner working of the lock they hardly pose a challange to even the least skilled pickers. This being said i am still glad rhey are included. One thing i was conserned with was the handle for the picks and thought i may be too heavy however after using the set i can definately say the handle is very easy and comfortable to hold, no issue there. The customer service of this company is on a whola another level, any questions you may have are answered almost immediately and failing that well within 24 hours. Overall the set is great and i have no complaints about it.

Fun when alls said and done
This is fun but after some use the plastic locks get a bit worn and difficult to use. The thing is, it HAS taught me about lock picking successfully and thats the point really. Having said that i have not been able to pick a modern security lock, which inspires confidence in the locks of today. It is fun though!

Great looking set!!
I can only give this review by seeing and handling this set... It was bought as a Christmas present for my son so it has not been used as yet... However, it looks good, feels well made and I think will give hours of fun and may actually hold his interest.. Failing that, it will definitely entertain me for quite a while... Lol

slightly disappointing, but definitely worth it.
I like this product. It helps beginners learn very quickly, and the case contents seems like it could be good for intermediates as well.Locks, not so much. They're very easy and can be opened based off of very loud sounds once you get used to them. If using for longer, buy some more practice locks as well.Unfortunately, many of the lock types covered in the booklet - it is great - are not in the set.Would still recommend.
