Streetwise California Map - Laminated State Road Map of California Map – December 27, 2007

California is huge. But not so huge with a map like this.Actually, it's exactly the same size. But this is a great little guy to have in your back seat pocket for those days that Iran shoots our GPS satellites down and your GPS receiver unit stops working. Or on cloudy days. Or if you don't have a GPS receiver unit. Or if you get tired of listening to that bossy lady tell you where to go.And these laminated easy-fold maps are a thousand times easier to use and less frustrating than those horrible plain paper ones. You'll probably live a longer and happier life with this one. (I have to qualify that with "probably" because I, like most men, cannot predict the future. I don't know for sure if, say, a pack of rabid Tasmanian devils escaped from the touring Australia exhibit at your local zoo won't invade your home and devour you before you go out again. If they do, then purchasing this map won't have lengthened your life at all. But then, you wouldn't regret buying the map if that happened, either. So I'd go ahead and buy the map.)

I am very disappointed with this map. It folds out about 8 inches wide and about 22 inches tall to show you the entire state of California. Well, if you want to see state highways, good luck. Because the state is condensed into such a small area, they have sacrificed most of the detail of state highways. If all you want to see is the major freeways between Eureka and San Diego, I guess it's OK. But not is you want to take any level of back roads or visit smaller towns.

it is handy, folds nicely and durable. Lots of details on a small fold out map. Tried to replace a lost California travel map for the car. This map is smaller than normal fold out maps. Would of liked a larger map, Northern CA on one side and Southern CA on the other. This has all of CA on one side and some city maps on the other side. Too much for one small fold out map, IMO.

I was really impressed. This folds easily and logically (unlike most other maps). It has lots of detail and will get you around CA. It folds back up easily. It's great for the backpack or travel kit in your car. You know it will hold up and you can pull it out and use it and not worry about it falling apart and getting wet or dirty. I have the CA map but there are others that are equally good for the areas they cover.

After a quick review of the area of the map that I am most familiar with, I noted two sloppy errors. "Los Alamitos Race Track" is misspelled as "Los Alimitos Race Track" in the "PLACES OF INTEREST" box. Norwalk Boulevard is shown as going through to Imperial Highway going northbound when in fact Norwalk Boulevard breaks a few blocks before Imperial Highway.For all I know these are the only two errors on the map, but given how quickly I found those errors, I am loathe to depend on this map to guide me in areas with which I'm unfamiliar.If, however, it is a mostly accurate map, this, like other Streetwise maps, is a useful product.

Nice map of California - I use it a lot at work to look up unknown towns and cities. It is laminated so it keeps its shape nicely to use over and over again. It shipped quickly...I recommend this map. It is complete and easy to read.

This map was fun to hold along in case of emergencies but it turned out that it was not very useful. A quick question to a stranger avery few blocks was more helpful. However this map was great at giving the driver the overall idea of how his area is in relations to what's around him and how far he is from the water or from a particular neighborhood. It's like looking at a google map zoomed out showing you the general area but not very useful showing you where to drive since you won't be able to see the details.

There are times you just need a map. This is the easiest type of map to use. I have the one for Manhattan and never got lost using it. So when a friend was moving to California, I decided to get this for her.
