I did run into an issue with my keyboard lights causing the device to turn off and on (drawing too much power) but adding a 5V power brick and microusb cable USB solves this. After much tinkering trying to eliminate the keyboard freezing, it turns out that it was the keyboard creating the problem and not the switch. After replacing the keyboard, the switch works fine. However, I tried the old keyboard connected directly to one of the computer and the keyboard worked fine. That tells me that this switch may not be compatible with all keyboards.
