I travel to the Middle East from time to time, and these are a surprisingly multifunctional item. They work well securing hijab, but they can also be used as an anti-theft device! I just pin one over and around my zipper on my backpack or camera bag or whatever, and it makes the zipper impossible to be opened without someone putting in some serious effort. Perfect for walking through crowded places with potential pickpockets! I've bought these before at street markets, shuks, etc., but was glad to find them on Amazon, as they tend to get misplaced after a while.

I put this on my jacket and it is decorative.
