Review: Great Primer, great flow through airbrush! - I’ve been airbrushing for 50 years and I’ve always used rattle can primer for my models. I wanted to start airbrushing my models and this primer works great! Great flow through my iwata HP-BC airbrush. This paint covers well with great adhesion. The color is a little light for me , I use white resin for my models and it was hard to tell if I covered the whole model. So I mixed in some black airbrush paint and then I could differentiate between my white model and the primer. The hand in my photo was painted before I added the black. The base and the eyeball were painted after I added a small amount of black to the primer. I’m very pleased with this primer and I will use it on all of my models from now on.
Review: Good Primer - I'm new to painting miniatures, but this primer seems to do the job for me.

## Features

- The primer is the first layer of colour that is applied on the model in order to prepare the surface for the subsequent painting processes. In order to guarantee an excellent adherence it is necessary to apply it on a previously ‘degreased’ surface, therefore it is advisable to wash the model or the figure before priming it in order to remove the remains of release agents.
- Vallejo Primers is a range of acrylic primers specially formulated for airbrushing. Recommended compressor settings for our colours are around 15 - 20 PSI or 0.5 to 1 kg.
- The primers are applied in successive coats and dry quickly, forming a homogeneous film of extraordinary hardness and resistance within a few hours after application. They can be used directly or diluted with our Airbrush Thinner (B002X6DTHK) or Flow Improver (B00QD780G0).
- The grey primer is available in 18 ml (0.6 fl. oz.) bottles with dropper, and 60 ml (2.02 fl. oz.) and 200 ml (6.76 fl. oz.) bottles with hinged cap and dropper.
- Note: The brand Vallejo is currently in the process of rebranding, therefore, for a period of time, it is possible that you may receive the product with either the new packaging or the old packaging.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Would this primer work well on pewter miniatures?**
A: It works on every pewter miniature that I have tried it on shot undiluted from my Iwata airbrush. Artisan, Crusader, Warlord Games and Games Workshop minis have all turned out fine.

**Q: What do you use to clean your brush after using this primer?**
A: Windex, (I usually by the cheap off brand stuff) and then I shoot some distilled water through it after the Windex. Be careful using this primer, if you don't prepare the surface, I usually sand with 600 grit sandpaper, this does not stick well to the surface you paint.

**Q: Does this primer adhere to photo etched parts?**
A: Yes..the Vallejo Primers work very well. They go on a with a wet look but pull down nice and tight as they dry. I am using a Badger Patriot Airbrush with a 0.3 needle. I use an air pressure between 16 and 20 lbs. I purchased the grey but prefer the Panzer Grey that dries to a black color. Be sure to shake the bottle well before use.

**Q: Does this need thinner, and if so, will tamiya thinner work?**
A: I don't think it needs thinner. I've used it as a brush-on application and through my air brush. Not sure about Tamiya thinner. The Vallejo is a water-based acrylic primer.
