MA50413 Wooden Railway Mountain Accessories

This is excellent value for money. It cost less than either the Brio  Brio 33391 Collapsing Bridge  or  Brio Dynamite Train Tunnel , and includes the modular mountain, a long straight, a curve, a pair of ascending tracks and the red track support. It has a few imperfections I describe below, but I would buy it again in a heartbeat.First the good stuff:The mountain itself looks great and is built very well. You can remove the top to use as a simple tunnel, and the lower piece can be used separately as another tunnel with space for a track on top. I anticipate this creating lots of flexibility in making new layouts. My son stood on the lower piece, and it looked like it can take a lot more weight than his (he's 2 and a 1/2).Now the not so good stuff:1) Unlike the Brio pieces, the mountain here does not fit the wooden tracks directly. Instead, it just leaves space for you to lay your track. This means that it is easy to knock out of place, and I've had to fix the layout repeatedly when my son wanted to run around between the mountains. This never happened with the Brio pieces. This is equally true of the red support. I'll probably try a bluetac/velcro hack to improve things, but it seems like a pretty basic thing to fix, and customers would probably happily pay more if they got this right out of the box.2) This won't be a problem for motorized trains, but the tunnels are too big. Unless he's connected many different pieces together, my son simply won't be able to push a train all the way through.I can't dock this set any stars for these imperfections though, because it is so cheap and the imperfections aren't deal-breakers. Nicely made quality wooden toy for a toddler train fanatic who loves it.. Strong and duirable it will survive the rough and tumble of childhood play and can be shared with friends and siblings.

Very nice two-level tunnel. Can be used as one piece, as well as two or even three separate tunnels.
