Never had a problem with mine. **Q: How long is the probe wire ? What is the lowest voltage detected ?** A: I believe the lowest voltage would be 110v --- I'm not certain about that. The actual voltage probe is the the one sticking out on the top of the meter. The other that "tucks" inside is the ground probe. I think it's about 6 inches long **Q: Are there well written instructions and exactly how long are the grounding lead ?... thanks!** A: Yes, there are instructions included in the package. The black piece at the top of the meter is actually the ground rod and stores in the meter. I don't remember exactly how long the wire is, but it seemed like it was nearly 2 feet long.
