Danny Elfman is one of the greats.
Great eerie music. The only way that this might have been better is if Robert Cobert had done some original compositions for this movie. However, if the goal was to have a newer fresh sound, then they did just right with Danny Elfman. I am a fan of his anyway. Besides, with Depp and Burton on this project, Elfman completes the Trinity. I love score and soundtrack music, especially for background when reading, writing, or gaming. I tend towards the gothic horror bent so this is perfect in my opinion for what it will be used for. I don't believe it will let YOU down.

Pretty Good soundtrack
I thought the soundtrack was good when I saw the movie. Listening to the whole CD is even better. Highly recommend if you are a Danny Elfman fan.

Faithful to the Spirit of Dark Shadows.
I approached this movie and the score with trepidation. As an original fan from the 1960's I already was looking down upon Burtons take along with Johnny Depp, one of my favorite actors. As time grew closer for the release, I allowed myself to ease my trepidation as I read Katherine Leigh Scotts new book. Knowing they (4 of the original actors) would show up in the movie as well as Alice Cooper, gave me some hope. As the opening music flowed hauntedly across my ears, I was elated. Like Coberts haunting woodwinds brought the original Dark Shadows to the forefront of music scores ever done for Television, and of course his dramatic orchestral prowess, Elfman's Score carries a feeling of eeriness with great touches of Cobert. As it goes along it occasionally goes for the bombastic but not so much as to lessen the haunting element of the movie. I could review the movie as well but I will leave it with Elfman's prowess at creating great moods for film.

Haunting Melodies
I have recently steppped into the world of Dark Shadows (the Original Series), and I adore the show to pieces. While some aspects of the Burton film bother me, I did walk away loving Danny Elfman's score. The soundtrack varies between dark, errie yet melancholy tunes to somewhat action-orientated themes. The CD came brand-new, factory sealed (no odd skips or scratches), and overall it's a good soundtrack. I recommend it!

Danny Elfman's 'Dark Shadows'
I saw the movie at the cinema, I haven't seen it since as it hasn't been released on DVD. But I really enjoyed it and I have a number of original score soundtracks of Elfman's. The music is much more quiet and slow than that of soundtracks such as Alice in Wonderland and Edward Scissorhands, due to the nature of the movie. But it is still fantastic and I love it!The item was in mint condition and arrived in good time.I highly recommend it!

Typical Elfman
Elfman just has a way with providing the most recognisable and evocative music scores. This joins our extensive collection of his works, lives up to his very high standards and most certainly does not disappoint

VUELVE ELFMAN !!!
No defrauda.
