The Crypto Trader: How anyone can make money trading Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies Kindle Edition

So...I’m just getting into the “crypto space,” but coming from a background in psychology, I can certainly say from that vantage point, this book is a “home run,” as the author makes no bones about it: if you don’t take time to know yourself, you’ll never get a successful grasp on the fundamentals of trading (crypto or otherwise).Also, the author is accessible, as I reached out to him, only to be surprised by how quickly he returned my inquiry...perhaps due to the fact that he hasn’t reached star-status just yet(!). In any event, I’m excited to begin utilizing the wisdom within these pages, but before I do that- I’m going to reread the entire book (at least) one more time, just for kicks, as it’s not merely a dry book on the technicals of a complex subject matter, but actually quite funny at times. I’ll post an update to this review, once I’ve made my first million...- - - UPDATE 10/26/2019 - - -Alright, so I haven’t made any millions (yet), but hole-E crap. I thought I knew what I was getting into, and a bit about myself (see above), but nah, I found out rather quickly how this trading “thing” can expose sides of us that we never knew existed. Impulsive? Greedy? Obsessive? IGNORANT. Stupid? Yeah, that’s me. Within the first few weeks as trader, I lost WAY more than I felt comfortable with, and I almost thought of throwing in the towel (at a heavy loss), but thanks to the encouragement of my wife (who probably wanted to kick my ass), and the author’s stoic wisdom, I hung in there, and guess what: if you FOLLOW the advice in this book-1. Grow your profits2. Cut your losses3. Trade the trend...AND get ahold of your (psychotic) Hyde side, you will make money- as not only have I been able to recover all of my losses, but have actually turned a profit (just don’t tell the taxman)!There’s so much more I could say, like giving credit to all the wisdom throughout the book attributed to Jesse Livermore (whose book I also purchased, and highly recommend), but I’ll sum it up in this:Thanks Glen- your book literally changed my life, and now, I truly feel, with the knowledge and insight I’ve gained about the markets (and more importantly about myself), I surely am, “in it to win it.”—-UPDATE 12-23-2019—Yep, I’m still raking it in...in fact, I’m thinking about setting up my own (totally non-shady) trading service, where I can now charge $$$ for all the advice and techniques I learned in this book (sorry Glen), since I’ve seen so many SUCKERS who are willing to pay top dollar for “advice” that is absolute garbage!Jk... But really, do yourself a favor: if you’re even considering getting into trading, buy this book, and read it, until you FULLY understand it, and then, and only then, start out your trading journey. This book truly is an absolute goldmine, and can save you $ and heartache, if only you listen and apply what’s in here.- - - Update 12/29/2020 - - -So...I’ve more than doubled my money. Couldn’t be happier with the advice in this book, and with myself, since, let’s be honest, books don’t “do” anything - the reader does.That said, I think I can officially say I’ve become a “swing trader” now, but I certainly couldn’t have done it without the advice and wisdom in this book. Also, I went ahead and picked up a copy of some of the books that Glen mentions, like Schabacker’s Technical Analysis and Stock Market Profits, and Edwards and Magee’s Technical Analysis of Stock Market Trends. This stuff works, and I’m a stickler for original sources.Well, that’s that. To the Moon!!!Best of luck!

I got sucked in at the absolute wrong time by a wealthy friend who assured me he knew a sure thing was going to happen, and that I needed to act now. He's a very successful attorney whose made a bunch of money so who am I to question, right? So i spent my meager savings and FOMO bought in high. Six hours later I was looking at half my money gone. Every beginner mistake people make outlined in this book had me laughing out loud, because I made every one of them!

I’ve been interested in and traded Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies for several years. Good lord do I wish I had this book years ago!! This book gets right to the point, every chapter is incredibly useful and also incredibly witty and enjoyable to read. I especially appreciated the teachings on reading charts, and how to help spot the beginning or end of a trend. Book has paid for itself so many times over, I can’t even count the amount...1000 times over? Probably more. There are several big trades I got into or got out of because of what I saw in the charts after what I learned from this book. Thank you Glen! A couple months since I finished it, now I’m reading it all over again. Also, I had a few questions and emailed Glen, and he sent back the most thoughtful reply. Not sure if he’ll always have time to do that, but he was really generous helping to answer some questions I had. Thank you again, you’re a really lovely part of the crypto community. Anyone who is interested in trading Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency should definitely read this book.

The book is a really good source of trading advice. Although focused on crypto, the concepts are mostly applicable to any trading environment. My only very minor complaint is that the author had more than enough personal stories. Aside from that, it was a good easy read with a lot of valuable information. I learned a lot and will read/review again (more than once).

Amusing educational and brief. Guides you into the world of crypto trading in baby steps. Nice and pleasant read. I recommend.

This book was incredible! I had a difficult time putting it down. Finished in less than 48 hours, absolutely will read again. I am fairly new to the crypto world, and frankly the world of trading...having only opened my first stock brokerage account less than a year ago.This book was exactly what I have been searching for in every way. Glen wrote in a way that was very easy to consume but also tactical with justification and analytical evidence throughout the entire book. He was also quite entertaining at times which prevents the average casual reader from falling asleep at the wheel haha. The crypto space can feel daunting, but this book absolutely provided clarity and insight in many areas I had been lacking, e.g. general jargon in the space, differences between the types of coins, understanding trends and reading charts, very well written proven strategies, and so much more. I can’t recommend this book enough and will absolutely suggest to anyone I come in contact with that is either A) looking to get into trading stocks and or crypto, or B) has been in either space. I feel anyone good gain something of value from this book. Lastly, the best advice I could give, is to invest in this book because an investment in yourself is an investment you’ll never lose on! Excellent explains, greats advices, step by step. Excellent book from beginners to ... whatever level. I absolutely recommen this book.

Glen’s humor and wit along with some very practical info on trading cryptos makes this a great read! I recommend it not only for beginners but anyone looking at increasing their trading profits.

I had in the past bought cryptocurrencies, only to see the value almost immediately halve. I then had a dream of owning just one Bitcoin and seeing its value go to $250,000 as some pundits say. I wanted to return to investing - starting with cryptocurrencies but how to do this sensibly?Well, this book is really well written and easy to use. The key takeaway is forget about cryptocurrencies. What you are doing is trading - or speculating, something which has been done for thousands of years. You are essentially trading or speculating on human emotion - which is the same regardless of what is being speculated on.There are two types of trading - technical analysis - looking at the charts of pricing to see and find trends and fundamentals analysis - trying to understand the real value of the asset you are buying. The author says that for cryptocurrencies, it is difficult to know the fundamentals (although he does have a section where he tries to do exactly this) as this is partly a fashion thing and a lot of speculation and hype. (Fundamental analysis or value investing is best left for stocks and shares. Have a look at these books: Rule #1 or The Education of A Value Investor for more on this).So, for crypto currencies, we are looking at technical analysis including charting and the author goes into this in a lot of detail including referring to what has worked for him and not. And also referring to some classics such as a 1932 Technical Analysis classic.I have read this and am re-reading it.

The book is absolutely amazing and it's written in a very easy to understand manner. There are numerous strategies that you can learn and they are represented at the right level of detail. What's more, you can immediately look at some charts and see that these patterns are indeed capable of predicting what can happen in the market. Also, I can't stress enough how important one of the rules is, especially for beginners - Cut your losses early! All in all, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this book to anybody that considers trading cryptos (not surprising given that I've managed to make some money already).

Having had a play with crypto's over the last 12 months, I wanted to add some more calculated methodology and strategy to my approach and I now feel that I have the building blocks to do that having read this book.I was already familiar with some of Glen’s work from his show on Share Radio and having heard him on investing podcasts, so I was therefore keen to hear his approach to crypto’s. His insight into trend trading was fascinating, really accessible and delivered with his usual light hearted sense of humour.A great starting point for any budding investor in crypto’s or other asset classes.

Bought the book after enjoying listening to Glen with Justin on the Vox podcast. Hadn't traded Crypto before but wanted to try as liked the idea of using Technical Analysis and felt that Crypto prices would be less likely to be adversely affected by inopportune RNS's than shares are. Found it easy to follow and an entertaining read. Have been able to put the techniques into action and making money from them so would recommend it to other people looking to do similar.

I knew nothing about Glen and nothing about trading. Having finished the book today I now know a little more. Very easy and informative read. I doubt all the information has sunk in but I’ll revisit and build on this excellent start. I’ve picked my first Crypto’s to monitor and if they breakout as anticipated I’ll invest but I’ll be setting my get out point to minimise losses and won’t go chasing them either. Thanks Glen.
