Basic wireless pool thermometer that lasts 3-6 months typically
This is a basic wireless pool thermometer that lasts 3-6 months typically. With a 3 month summer season in Northern New England, we're lucky to keep these going for two summers. Either the floating probe thing stops sending or moisture starts effecting things in the floater or the home base is not receiving. Something always seems to go wrong. Even when extra caution is taken, fresh batteries put in, lubricate the seal, some waterproof sealant along the threads, ... Just not durable. But, I have been unable to find a durable one. Our first wireless pool thermometer was many times more expensive and only lasted two seasons, was a bit tedious to replace batteries due to the many screws, seal, ... Compared to that discontinued unit, this one is quick and easy. Just wish we could get 3-4 summers out of one.Sadly this order through Amazon also took two months to ship from CH (July 5 - Sept 11)

Poorly designed remote pool thermometer
I purchased this pool thermometer to replace one that we had used for the last 5 years. This one is poorly designed. The outside temperature reads as the water temperature. The second temperature reading is listed as "in" temperature. I could adapt to those problems after I realized what the issue was, but after the first rainstorm, the body of the in pool thermometer leaked, and despite drying it out, and changing the batteries, the "in" water temperature reads 69 degrees. We have 2 other thermometers in our pool and they clearly read the accurate water temperature

A piece of junk that doesn't work
The first one that arrived would not pair the floating element with the remote element. So we returned it and got a second. The floating element of the second had an inch of water in it after one day and the remote element was showing a temperature 16 degrees higher than the actual water temperature. Returned for refund. A simple, non-digital floater does the trick.

Disappointing
I cannot recommend this product. The first one I had would not transmit the temperature from the actual thermostat to the indoor unit. Amazon sent a replacement unit. The replacement unit worked as it supposed to. However, the floating pool thermometer in spite of the seal being as tight as one could get it; water seeped in ruining the electronic circiuit board

Complete garbage
I have owned about 10 remote pool thermometers over the years. They last about a year so I buy a new one every year. Quality has declined each year until they are worthless. This one syncs up with the base just fine - as long as they are no more than 5' apart. Maybe 4'. My pool is literally 20' from the base with a single outside wall to go through. No signal at all. It looks like the major players have gotten out of the remote pool thermometer business. You cant buy them at pool stores anymore (at least here in Vegas). They stopped carrying them because they all came back. This one wont work for you. I promise. Good luck.

Don't waste your money!
It looks great, but don't be fooled. Took 9 weeks to arrive and did not even last 3 weeks. I made sure to put lube on the seal to stop water intrusion. Within a month it stopped working. Upon checking the sender was filled with water. not sure how it got it but is was not from the seal. Total garbage.

Leaked after two days
Worked for two days. Then the temp reading did not seem correct, too high. I unscrewed the top to check it out and it had and inch of water inside the unit! The flimsy o-ring on the cap moves while cap is being tightened. I would not recommend this one. If you decide to buy this one make sure to pick up some silicone and seal the unit up prior to putting in the water.

Does not work
First unit ordered on 3 Jan, set-up was easy but only worked for 20 days. Amazon replaced unit which was placed in pool one week ago. 2nd unit is not stable and flashes between F and C degrees, will not hold the setting. The pool unit and receiver unit will not sync-up, not transmitting. Floating element will not seal tight. Very frustrated now with the second unit. 2 failed units in 6 weeks.

The remote device burns through batteries
The screen display is easy to read and easy to use. However, the floating device that is in the hot tub lasts for about 2-3 days then the batteries go dead. I have replaced them 3 times now with different brands of batteries and there is no difference. So if you want to spend 100 dollars on batteries a year I would highly recommend this product!!
