Can't live up to claims
The reason for 1 star is as much about how I was treated as it is the pump. I also got the pipe kit & an extra pump piston for a about $726. I installed as per instruction with tape on all threaded connections (which they don't do) etc. I got about 6 oz. per stroke which is way below the stated capability of 3-5 gal. per min. After much back & forth with Bruce, pumping harder, checking & trying this & that, removing the pump, disassembling & measuring & reinstalling with my spare piston he agreed that there was a problem with the pump & that I should get 17-21 oz. per stroke. Took it back out as he sent a replacement in which the riser pipe was too short (even with the top of pump) so I had to swap it with the original riser. The first pump had the white piston shown on his site as "new high output", the replacement had the black one shown as the older type. He said they are the same just different material but it has less grooves. Reinstall & had improvement but still well below promised volume. Now he goes back to I'm not pumping hard enough. I'm 5' 11" & 220lb. & no weakling. The only way I can get close to the min. 3gal. per min. is to take the handle off & pump like the T style with a full stroke, full effort & body weight. He then said that I was unreasonable for expecting it to do what he said it would & that I should be happy that I can pump "some" water from over 100'. Mine is set at 55' so that means nothing to me. He also ignored questions about the so called sch120 riser pipes bowing (as noted in another review here) which are conveniently unmarked so I looked up the specs & measured & they are sch80. He suggested a pump with seals he is developing (like all the others & not why I chose his & I'm tired of doing free R&D work) that pumps to 300' (meaningless to me) or send it back. He refused to send another proper sized spare piston because he didn't trust that I wouldn't send it back anyway, despite my assurance otherwise because at this point my patience is exhausted & I don't trust what might happen if I did return it. This is about 2 1/2 months in. He stopped any further correspondence. Can grandma & the kids use it? Sure, if they have lots of time to spend filling a bucket. Can you get 3gal per. min.? Maybe, if you take the handle off & go at it like an Olympian. If "some" water out of the ground makes you happy there are cheaper options. If you expect a product to live up to it's claims at least the competitors are up front about them. His marketing videos are misleading & when pressed to live up to claims the pump can not.

good quality parts
I haven't installed mine yet - looks straightforward, but haven't had the time. Saw it set up as a demo and was very impressed. Ease of operation is phenomenal - I that is what impressed me most, even on fairly deep wells, I was told. Rugged construction, good quality parts. Before I bought, I also compared with Bison, Simple and Flojak - and I found this to be the least expensive pump in its class in the market. Very pleased. Will report back after install -****Update****Easy to install, works great - very happy! Well is 128' deep and pumping is almost effortless. So glad to have this by-pass - feels very old style, works great, and eminently practical! Pleased -
