Like your defensive shotgun close at hand, but out of sight? Try this TAC-RACK, like all HFD2 products, made right here in the U.S.A. Unlike other bedside racks on the market, this set-up utilizes generous cradles, designed specifically for modified defensive shotguns (although they will work for just about any long-gun, bat, baton or other defensive weapon). These racks will also accept most SXS shotguns! Also, there's no sticky rubber coating that makes for difficult retrieval. Instead, we’ve used an extra thick coating of hammer toned powder coating. Formed from .090 aluminum (as strong as & lighter than steel) with smoothed and rounded edges, combined with our beautiful finish, these TAC-RACKs look great (Even though you'll be the only one that knows they're there) and are easy on your weapons finish. And you will have NO problem removing YOUR weapon from these cradles! The cradles themselves are 2" wide by 1.5" in depth and can be lined with felt or foam for that "custom" fit... I0" of slip length for an overall length of 12" combined with our 45 degree upswept angle on the last ¾” of slip length makes for a very secure rack. Solved my problem.
I had tried a similar item before but the cup was too low and it rubbed on the wooden side of the bed frame. This is much better having a shallow cup which does two things, 1. It does not rub on the wooden side of the bed rail, and 2. Holds the shotgun up high enough that it is completely concealed when the bed is made up rather than hanging beneath the sheet. No problem with the powder coated metal rubbing on the shotgun. I simply placed each bracket inside an old gym sock which protects my gun's finish from the metal and protects my old shin bones from it as well. The only improvement I can envision would be to have the bracket cups not quite as wide so they did not protrude quite as far from the mattress. They could be half the size and my Mossberg 590 would still fit. Nevertheless, a great product.

It's an excellent product, excellent powder coating
It's an excellent product, excellent powder coating. The only improvement I made, and I repurchased a second set for a friend, was a rubber lining on the c cup. I cut out flat rubber washer material and contact cement. It looks good. I have a tac light on my shotgun and I wanted to protect the light and the entire gun from the metal surface. Thanks again, Oh, like the sticker...it's on the back of my Jeep now and I do tell people about this product.

Nearly Perfect!
Works like a dream, but could be perfected with a soft inner lining to protect my shotgun. As it is, I did it myself with some felt. Good workmanship.

Good stuff!
I use this every night. Works as advertised. Pretty solid construction. They take the abuse of my three year old. She uses it as a foot stool to get in the bed (gun removed of course).
