Just like your kid doesn't listen to you at home
Picture yourself in the local rec. league gym. You've been awkwardly pressed into service as a substitute coach for your eleven years old son's basketball team. Sure, you bought the dry erase basketball clipboard and you downloaded some drills from the internet but are you really prepared?I say no, you're not unless you have this here whistle. Just like your kid doesn't listen to you at home, all ten of them really don't listen to you in the gym. Beads of sweat begin to form on your forehand as you notice bystanders (what are they doing there, anyway) standing there staring with expressions that say "why can't this guy get control of these kids?"That's when you remember the whistle. Loud sharp report. Works for me.
I'm very pleased with this whistle. It is the only one I have found that has the correct tone to carry over long distances in rough terrain. I live on 130 acres of timber and farm land. My dogs have an amazing life here. Now they can hear me calling them home, from the house. Before I had to walk or drive to round the up. The quality is excelent, requires very little breath to blow a loud sharp tone that cuts through dense forest and crops. Thank you for making life on the farm, a little less stressful.

Wish I had bought this earlier
I love this whistle. I am a elementery basketball coach, and I only wish I had bought this sooner.I have always used the traditional metal with a ball and rubber protector. They work well, but they are loud and a little harsher sound. I also find the rubber mouth guard trys to fall off, can tear.This whistle fixes those issues, and still has a fairly tradional whistle sound. I like how the rubber guard seems to stay on better, and the feel of it. Also, I find this works great at different levels of force. Which is nice to convey the importance of blowing it to the kids. Sometimes they will start to play through the whistle, and then it gets louder.

Great whistle for long range usages
Nice, well made whistle with a great "mouth feel". The whistle doesn't have a warbler/"pea", so it makes a singular whistling tone. The whistle is a very solid plastic with a silicone coated mouth piece that's quite comfortable to use.I deducted one star for the review due to the following reasons: - The lanyard doesn't have a "breakaway" clip - The whistle requires a fair amount of air pressure to achieve a whistling tone. Not a great whistle for short range interaction, but great for long distance uses.Overall, I'm quite happy with the whistle and would consider buying them for all of my coaching staff.

the results have been good, although I won't quite say "great"
I have used this whistle now for 15 High School soccer matches. Thus far, the results have been good, although I won't quite say "great". I believe the pitch is good, the sound is crisp and bright, and it carries well. I have blown the whistle from 30 - 40 yards behind the play in a noisy soccer setting and players have all responded immediately.I am still trying to figure out if I like the silicon mouthpiece. Sometimes I like it, other times it feels awkward. For now, I will lean towards "like".I was a religious user of the Fox 40 whistle and find this to be comparable if not superior, and the price is certainly friendly!

Simple
I like that there's a cover but the whistle makes a weird noise so my students don't know if I'm blowing the whistle or if it's some odd sound.

Great referee whistle
I ref soccer games, for which I need a good whistle. I have used metal whistles forever, but when I lost all of them, I decided to try a new whistle. I bought this one and a similar one, and both work great. A blast on this and the players know immediately I have stopped play. It is loud, clear, and cuts through the commotion of a soccer game. My only advice is that you not test this indoors unless you want to rupture your ear drums!

Certainly good for emergencies on the street
The whistle is loud enough for my purposes, but probably lacks a little of the volume of a whistle with a ball, which I would prefer for sports use. Still, it can generate a lot of sound. I just experimented, blowing quite vigorously, and my left ear is still slightly 'blocked' as a result of the shrill, piercing sound in close proximity. Certainly good for emergencies on the street.
