The traditional "flat cap" is late 15th-, early 16th-century English. It was worn by both men and women. Size: Our smallest flat cap measures 21 1/2" (hat size 6 3/4). We do NOT make flat caps smaller than that. We stock hats up to 23 3/4" (hat size 7 5/8). Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of the head at its widest point, about 3/4" above the ear valley. Measure tight to the nearest 1/4th of an inch. You must have this measurement as accurate as possible so we can select the proper size for you. We pre-measure each hat as we ship to make sure you receive EXACTLY what you order.

This is one of my favorite hats, I wear this thing everywhere. Yeah you might think I look stupid, but the fact of the matter is this... You are looking at someone way more intelligent than yourself. I am a certified genius and your wife is more than likely sleeping with me when you are at work.

Great quality
This is my second hat from Designs by Kate. Same hat, just different colors to go with different costumes. Love the quality, comfort and fit. Shipping is also incredibly fast! Kudos to this seller for getting it right, repeatedly!

Very Pleased!
I was very impressed with the quality of the Tudor Flat Cap and the customer service from Faireware. When I first received the item I thought it was little to big, so I contacted Faireware by e-mail. I was surprise to see how fast the company got back to me. Kate from Faireware not only answered my questions but also explained everything to me. Most company's wouldn't have gone through this level of quality for a customer. It's a great cap and a good company!

Beautifully made.
This is a high quality costume item. It appears handmade. I am very impressed with the workmanship and materials. My one comment is that the picture is a bit misleading, because the hat has more vertical "puff" to it than it appears and does not have the look of a flat beret when pulled down on the head enough to stay put. The puffy shape can be easily tamed by safety pinning the inside to the rim. Regardless, it was just right for my son's Renaissance activity.

Nicely made flat cap!
Well made and comfortable, the brim is 2.5" so it is pretty floppy and will provide great protection from the sun. The cloth is light enough that it should breathe well. Made in the USA!!

Excellent quality for the price
This hat really pulled my costume together for a Renaissance Fair. It fit perfectly, and I have a fairly large head. The material is a good, solid cloth. So far, no issues at all, and as a bonus the hat doubles as a frisbee when I'm bored!
