Some good tabs and about as easy a way into classical guitar as you could hope for. It has to be said that some of the tabs are not that effective, but there is more than enough to get on with.

Depends on expectation
To be honest, I am slightly disappointed with the product. It seems very simplified, and many pieces feel very incomplete. However, I will use this book to improve my rather poor sight-reading, and use it to choose which pieces I would like to get better transcriptions for. The pieces sound nice enough, but having studied counterpoint, some parts do not feel completely right. As I said, the rating depends on expectations. If you want very authentic Bach, maybe look elsewhere. These are nice enough pieces for a beginner.

Very useful beginner/improver's introduction to Bach on guitar
I enjoyed this and still expect to get a lot more out of it. I am one of the millions who play guitar(s) at beginner to intermediate level for pleasure and in folk clubs etc, enjoying a range of styles from blues to jazz and some classical, like many guitarists I am more interested in getting agreeable noises out of the instrument than mastering theory or giving a serious recital, and I struggle with sight reading, so rely on my ears or notation. This book has enabled me to play passable versions of 4 or 5 popular Bach tunes-Air on a G String, Bouree (as covered by Jethro Tull), Jesu Joy of Man's desiring, and a couple of others. For me, that was well worth the book's price.

Bach on guitar....
Liked the pieces, thought they were great insight into mindset of composer.I don't know if its his style, but after first 20 or so pieces, i found the sound a much of a muchness-once i'd grasped the finger technique, they sounded of a similar genre. When you hear of Bach on organ recital, it sounds that much more dimensional and feel more of a presence.Maybe its just me -i don't know. However in the latter half of book it livens up somewhat, and the pieces become famaliar.I think if your starting on classical guitar, once youve learnt the open and first positions with a tutor/teacher, this book would really set you on the road to a very disciplined classical disciple. If you like the sounds of Bach give it a go, you will be surprised how quickly you pick up your music iq.Major criticism is lack of tutor notes to various recitals, and a bit more elaborate history pics ...etc.Nice book though!
