Not so with this model, all of the niggles and annoyances have been eliminated. Navigation of the software is now intuitive instead of being a mystery. There was no paper manual provided in the box, although there is a download link which you can scan onto your phone. But, if you connect the MP3 player to a computer you will find the full manual included in the devices memory along with a video converter.First impressions of this are of how heavy it is, for it's small size it really is weighty. Looking more like a small mobile phone than an mP3 player, this fits nicely in the hand, it also takes up very little space in your pocket.This has 8gb of built in memory which should be more than enough for most of us. But, if more memory is required, then a Micro SD card can be inserted into the base, this will take a card up to 64gb.Also provided are a set of earbud headphones, these plug into the base of the MP3 player by way of a 3.5mm stereo socket. I must admit the earbuds are the weakest link here. They sound acceptable but plug in a set of decent earbuds or earphones and this MP3 player sounds great. This also supports bluetooth which may be a much better option for most of us.This will play music, it supports the following formats: MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, and WAV. The device will also play video which I haven't tested, along with having a built in FM radio. If you wish, this can also be used as a voice recorder.Music sounds great played from this, especially if you use better quality headphones. There is an inbuilt EQ which cannot be customised, instead there are several EQ presets which do tweak the sound slightly. There is also an option to slow down or speed up your music without affecting the voice. There are all of the normal playlist, shuffle and many other playback options available.The built in FM radio works a treat, I was able to easily tune into many radio stations, the stations remained locked without any drift. Stations can be saved to presets if you wish.This really is a fantastic MP3 player for the asking price. With a set of good quality headphones this can sound amazing. With the supplied headphones it still sounds OK but not as good. The music player comes in quite a nice, solid presentation box. This charges via USB cable, and has a USB C connection. The music player arrived pre-charged and the battery was nearly full. Size-wise, this is similar to some generations of a major brand’s now discontinued nano-size music player, although is rather heavier than I remember any of those being. A single charge lasts ages.The finish to the player is quite nice. The housing is a matt metal finish, the power button and volume up/down are plastic, whilst a voice recorder is activated by a red metal button on the side of the player. The whole of the front has a glass layer, and there are light touch button controls below the screen. The screen perhaps isn’t the clearest – it's small and album artwork and videos do have a somewhat pixelated quality to them – but are just about identifiable. The sound quality is OK, if slightly on the tinny side. The tinniness is much worst when listened to without headphones: the inbuilt speaker is really very weak. The 8GB capacity is sufficient to hold quite a lot of songs and a few videos, and this can be expanded up to 64GB via micro SD card.
