Freestyle Really Big Notebook: Serious Creativity Collection. 800 Pages.

I have seen many reviews on YouTube where the reviewer loves this notebook but asks for recommendations with how to use it. I always have to laugh when I read those reviews. I mainly purchased for the size because I can ALWAYS FIND IT ON MY ART TABLE. I wish my cell phone was that size, ha ha. I did not have the problem of figuring out a use for it and will probably purchase a second one. I LOVE THE INDEX. Such a simple thing, but to me, the best part along with the page numbering and size of course. My only minor complaint is for me, the page numbers are small. A drawback of getting older I am afraid.My main use is to keep track of my art supplies and art books. I know what I have and where to find it in my studio. (do you notice I may have an issue of finding things in my studio?) I also note tips on product use, keep color and blending charts of the inks/pens/paints I have plus a art supply wish list. Note it is regular paper, so does not do well with water. If this was mixed media paper at least, I would be in heaven. Otherwise, I just add in charts that are on heavier-weight paper. I keep track of workshops I have signed up for, especially those online workshops that offer lifetime access. I keep my workshop notes in it too. I keep inspirational color palettes from magazines, etc. pasted in there. I keep track of my art books. I keep notes on websites and/or artists that I admire to refer to for inspiration. I also keep lists of things like the medications I am taking currently. I even have notes in it for my family, so I have everything of importance that would need if I become incapacitated for some reason. They are aware I keep this book and it will be easy for them to spot on my desk in a hurry instead of information stored in some desk file.I find it very useful. It keeps my stress level down having information in one place. I have gone through terminal computer crashes in the past and find this book to be more trustworthy with my information.

Edit 10-2-13 -I loved this journal so much I ordered a second one yesterday, along with three other journals by the same company. I order a lot of stuff on Amazon (my accountant says TOO much - way too much), and I know I should probably get around to reviewing all of it, but I don't. So it should say something that I took the time to review this journal, and also to edit it when I reordered. It is fantastic!Original review:I have been trying to find a journal with this many pages for years. Having one handmade with a leather cover would have cost - literally - ten times this much, and taken much, much longer. I got this journal in two days and it is magnificent. The cover isn't paper, and feels like it will last. I would have loved a customized cover, but I'm embroidering one in felt for it to make up for that fact. Since these are print on demand (mine has a print date of November 17th in the back) it would be nice to be able to choose blank, lined, or graph paper, but I simply got a piece of ruled paper, made the lines darker, and am using that so I don't end up curving all over the page. And the blank pages are better for sketches anyway.The best thing I love about this book is that I am NOT afraid to mess up in it. It has 800 pages! I've been writing rough drafts of stories, and I have NO problem editing in the book and rewriting the entire chapter a few pages later. There are enough pages to make your own 50 page index at the back - or 20, or 100 - it's an amazingly freeing book. Probably why they called it Freestyle. :-)

Great huge book for list making and idea organization. Love the index and numbered pages.

I like that this big is BIG in the sense that there is plenty of room to write in or draw. All the pages are numbered which is great and it has an index which is very handy. The only thing that I find annoying is that the paper quality isn't too great as it won't tolerate a sharpie pen without leaving ghosting and sometimes a bleed through here and there depending on how heavy handed you are. So, writing on both sides of the page can be an issue for some. But it does take ball point ink well. I gave it five stars because for what I will be using it for it won't be an issue using both sides of the page.

According to the product description, the Freestyle Really Big Notebook has 400 pages that can be used on both sides, 800 pages total. But only 200 pages can be used on both sides due to the inadequate design of the notebook. Meaning that the dimensions selected for this notebook don't allow the product to be used as advertised. Due to the thickness of the notebook the first 200 pages don't rest upon the supporting surface therfore the back side of those pages it is useless.Considering the cost of the notebook I believe that the consumer would want to hang on to this product for a long period of time, but since it's not a hardcover, it's easily damaged when stored.

I loved it, though it would be cool to make a spiral edition of this. The front cover and the edges bent too easily.

500 pages of writing space/ideas

Overall, I like how much you can fit into this notebook, and the paper is decent quality. However, I "broke" the spine on purpose (folded it so that it creased in order to make writing easier). I didn't expect part of the notebook to fall apart later on: the middle section detached itself from the spine. The pages do stay together (thank goodness!) but the middle isn't glued to the spine anymore.I bought this notebook to be used as a diary (I get through the smaller notebooks so fast, in a month or two, so I figured a bigger notebook would be a good option), and while I'm going to use it to the end (unless the notebook can't take it), I don't think I will be purchasing this in the future. It has a lot of potential but personally, I think it need a bit more developing before I'd consider this as a viable option for the future.

Didn't arrive and couldn't be replaced as it was an amazon warehouse deal... Disappointing as it was cheap and to re buy it would be a lot more.

Pleased with this item overall. It's massive and it came well packaged. However I ordered the black notebook and it IS black however it has a line of white about .5cm along the bottom of the front cover which just spoils it a bit for me :(

Fantastic book - yes it's huge but the index makes it extremely useable.
