Made in JAPAN Large View (92x42 mm) Auto Shade Darkening Welding Helmet (Blue)

This is a very nice helmet with a huge range of sensitivity. In the most sensitive position, the helmet will even darken from the TV. The only downside is the helmet is a bit on the small side, or should I say - it is not for people with big heads. My hat size is 7 3/4, which is pretty big, and the helmet is at it's maximum adjustment for the headband. I would say 7 3/4 is the maximum hat size the helmet will adjust to.If you wear a bigger hat, you probably won't be able to use this helmet.The adjustability is really good though, as you can adjust the angle of the helmet in the full down position. As well, you can adjust the head band forward or rearward. Be careful though if you make this adjustment as you all but have to remove the binding posts, and there are several parts that can fall off the helmet.This is the first auto darkening helmet I have owned, so I cannot say how it compares to others. But when looking at the various models, not many had a 1/25,000 sec response time. Most were either 1/20,000 or 1/10,000.I also like that the darkening mechanism was made in Japan, not China. This is still an inexpensive helmet, but I have seen others go for as little as $20. I am not sure I want to trust my eyes on a really cheap helmet.

This company promptly, and without question, replaced the head-gear for the welding hood I just bought. Great customer service that stands behind their product. The adjusting button that crosses the crown of your head pealed away from the plastic adjustment strap when I made the initial setting of it while at work. The button is a tight fit, and it should be a good fit after long use of the hood, but as it was brand new, it takes a little working at it to pop it out and adjust it. Anyway, I love the hood. It's light, it has a notched drop action that enables you to partially drop it and do tack welds with a sleight tilt of your head to block the flash with the base of the hood. And when stretching out across the table, the notched drop action nicely holds the hood in place.

Upon opening the package we had noticed that the helmet's paint was already chipping off. It just leaves us to wonder what it will look like a few months from now.

It would of been nice to have the helmet head strap assembled. I have 2 other hoods and this one is not worth what I paid.The cheater lenses did not fit, I had to modify them so they would slide into place."Second Review"After consulting with Omar he sent me a new cheater lense. For the occasional user who is willing to read the owners Manual this is a great product, a few years ago I nearly spent $500 bucks on a auto dim but decided to keep my old shaded glass model I am however glad I purchased this the convenience is great !!

I really like the large view. Dont be like me and forget to remove the protective film on the inside lens.Thought the lens was dirty.
