Cats seemed to like it though
Availability/Supply problems made me switch away from this brand. Cats seemed to like it though. This flavor is very pungent. It smells like, well, fish.

Very pleased with this dry food and the positive effect it's had on my cats
This dry food appears to be very well-balanced and excludes many ingredients that cats can be sensitive to. I originally purchased the ocean fish variety and the younger of my two cats took to it immediately. The older cat refused to eat this variety for nearly three weeks when I decided to purchase the turkey, chicken, and herring variety. Both cats, including my picky eater who didn't like the ocean fish variety, love the turkey, chicken, and herring flavor.Specific observations of my cats since they've begun eating this food (including background to illuminate relevance):1. My younger cat originally came to me as a foster kitten after she'd been rescued from the streets in an industrial neighborhood when she was just a few weeks old. When I took her in as a foster at the age of four mos., it was because she was very underweight had contracted practically every illness that is endemic in shelters, so they desperately wanted someone to take her in as a foster in order to give her a chance of improving. After months of being on multiple medications, she was normal weight, fairly healthy, and active, but she continued to have gastrointestinal issues. Specifically, she suffered from chronic diarrhea and was quite a gassy and bloated kitten. I'd tried many different types of food, wet and dry (and also tried feeding her combinations thereof), including the super-premium brands you see in pet stores, like Blue Buffalo. Nothing helped (including the many medicines the vet prescribed her over the months). Since she began eating Nutrience grain-free dry food, her gassiness and bloating have reduced tremendously, and after the first week (when she was still experiencing diarrhea), her stools have been perfectly ordinary. After eight mos. of the awful GI issues she was dealing with, I was still holding out hope that this food would help with the problems based on earlier reviews (though doubting it a bit), but I never would've dared to guess that it would make such a significant difference. Now a year old, she is finally properly healthy and happy. Note: I have continued feeding her the ocean fish variety (though she often steals bites of the other food) and will until the bag runs out, at which point I will just purchase the turkey, chicken, and herring variety to feed to both cats since they both like it.2. My older cat, who is three, never had any health problems until about two months after I brought the then-foster/now-adopted other cat home. The problems started right after I began allowing the two cats to interact, at which point my older cat developed GI issues, as well. Switching foods and giving her medicines from the vet didn't help this cat, either. As is the case with the other cat, within approximately a week of beginning to eat Nutrience grain-free dry food, her symptoms cleared up. In her case, in fact, the symptoms cleared up entirely. (The other cat still experiences some gassiness and bloating, as I stated above.)In conclusion, I think this is a great product in both varieties and would highly recommend it, particularly for cat owners whose cats are experiencing GI issues and/or who are sensitive to ingredients like gluten.

OMG! My poor cat has urinated and defecated all over the place from eating this. HORRIBLE!!! I wouldn't feed this to a rabid opossum!

Unable to get a good answer from the vet or doing my own research ...
One of my cats developed pancreatitis at 7 years of age. She had never had any health issues until this. Unable to get a good answer from the vet or doing my own research as to the cause, I decided to examine her diet. I was very shocked when I read the ingredients on the Iams package. So I investigated for an entire weekend and selected the Nutrience grain free. I was super lucky that my cats went cold turkey OFF the Iams and embraced this food on day 1.On the cost: I was paying about $2/LB for Iams low quality junk. Nutrience is under $3/LB. For my cat to be healthier, well worth it. I am also a super user of coconut oil and believe my pets will benefit from it also.I will update this later after they have had a couple weeks of this new food.

Really stunk up my cat's bowels, and she didn't seem to like the food much.

Beware of the magnesium level in this cat food
Nutrience Grain Free Cat Food, Ocean Fish flavor seemed like a sure bet. Both of my felines will eat anything aquatic in their food so I didn't hesitate to grab a bag from Amazon Vine. The cats both loved the taste. The bowl filled with Nutrience was gone hours before the bowl holding their "regular" food was empty. I noticed no signed of upset stomach, no hairballs landed on my carpet, it was all good. Well, except for the smell because this food is absolutely STINKY. But I digress.Within two weeks of eating this food, one of my cats developed a raging urinary tract infection that required a stay at the vet's office, antibiotics, and six doses of kitty painkillers. You see, the magnesium level in my cat's urine was off the charts. So I researched. Cats should have less than .09% magnesium in any food that they eat. My normal food is .07%. Nutrience is 1.0%.Am I saying it mad my cat sick? No. Am I saying that the magnesium level in this food is not healthy for my cat? Yes. Does my cat now have magnesium crystals in his urine which requires prescribed food especially for his urinary tract? Yes.I would only buy this product if the magnesium level dropped.Natalie S. for Amazon Vine
