This saved my season
I am a Divison 1 Track and Field athlete (Throw javelin) . Last season I had a persistent lower back strain (Quadratus Lumborum) that would not go away. Even worse, it was mid season so I could not afford to take significant recovery time. I felt terrible, i was in constant pain while throwing and my performance suffered. I tried everything, icy hot, scraping, stretching, trigger point work, Ibuprofen. On a whim I decided to purchase this item after reading the reviews, I did not have high hopes but i was desperate.I am not exaggerating when I say this product allowed me to return to competition without pain, without it, i would have been able to finish out the season. I put on a thin layer (roughly 1/8 of an inch) around the area of pain, it took about 15 minutes to kick in, but once it did i could feel it, the heat is pretty intense, so be careful how and where you apply it.Keep in mind that this won't FIX an injury, it will help treat the SYMPTOMS to allow you to compete or keep moving, but you should still engage in a physical therapy routine to find and treat the cause.I'm a believe in atomic balm now, I can't recommend it enough if you're an athlete who needs to perform while dealing with small nagging injuries, soreness or tightness.

Aptly named
This product was recommended to me by a person I trust, to be good for Psoriasis. The two working ingredients, Methyl Salicylate and Capsaicin, come in percentages that are higher than any other medicines I know. If you are unaware of Capsaicin, it is what make hot peppers burn. I applied it to an area where Neuropathy is causing the psoriasis. I regretted that application for about an hour. Be careful how much you apply and wait several minutes before you apply more. Some claim it is no worse than Listerine, but I found it hotter. Each person will experience different sensations. If you were an athlete in the fifties we called it Wintergreen lotion for sports injuries. It does what I wanted it to do..

the best stuff
Cramer's is the best stuff for analgesics. Goes back to the old days of high school and college as an athlete, and still to this day using Atomic Balm, or if you are brave enough the RED HOT for any soreness, stiffness, etc., blows away any over the counter crap at the stores. This stuff is far better than Tiger balm, ben gay, aspercreme, etc.

Too hot!!
Too hot! Was hoping for a little more heat than the regular Cramergesic rub, to really loosen up a few targeted muscles before working out. This atomic stuff is named correctly... Cannot imagine using their hottest (red hot I believe). Skin doesn't really heat up until an hour later, when I'm finishing up my workout, but then it is burning hot. Very uncomfortable. Glad I got the small tube to try and not the 1 pound tub.

Nostalgic
I bought this on a whim. It brought back memories of my high school football playing days. At that time, yes we did have electricity, this was pretty much the only option for aches and pains. When I unscrewed the cap, I was transported back to another time. I never intended to use it, but have actually had occasion to use it. Sometimes it's good to go home.

Hot sauce for those cold muscles.
A great product in a nice easy to manage tube. I love this stuff. Make sure to wash your hands well after you apply it. Hot sauce in the eyes hurts. Also, don't apply this everywhere.....you know what I mean.

Worthless
Purchased this product because of its ingredient claim of higher Capsaicin content than other muscle rubs, and therefore, hotter. I see now that the labeling is misleading. I got no heat from this. I used it daily for a week, increasing the amount each day. I finally gave up when I had squeezed out two inches of the junk for one shoulder and still felt nothing. I get more warmth from Icy Hot and that product doesn't have any Capsaicin. Also, it stained my white shirt permanently.
