After the commuter mug I'd been using for YEARS finally broke, I was stoked to shop for a new, prettier one. I settled on this even though it was pricier than some similar options, because I liked the look of the bamboo, and it claims to be made from eco-friendly, sustainable materials. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and it's got giant, unnecessary chunks of plastic/styrofoam in there. Here's a pic of the ridiculousness. I think this is BS coming from a company that's marketing this product as environmentally friendly.

Very pretty cup but the wood wasn’t flush with the ceramic. Water will definitely get in that crack and cause problems. The lid doesn’t fit well either, wouldn’t snap into position and would leak occasionally. Beautiful cup, just needs some tweaking.

Absolutely useless as a Thermos cup, gets so hot around the top you cannot even hold it, never mind drink from it. Would be ideal as a hand warmer in the winter though.
