Flimsy Handle Grip
Since there was no link to leave Seller Feedback... My Winged Weeder arrived with a broken handle grip. It was packed to where it could flop around inside its box. The grip is cheaply made from a hard plastic. The cutting head was well wrapped. Other than that it seems sturdy. Not too heavy or too light. Ease of use is subjective to the height of the person using it. The cutting head needs to maintain correct angle. I am not sending mine back although seems unfair for me to have to purchase a handle grip to replace a brand new item that was broken on arrival..

Great yard tool
This came with the plastic cover that goes on end of the handle split. I can’t return it because it’s not available at this time. With that being said it is an amazing yard tool.

Good Idea, Not Well Made
I got mine a few days ago, and the wing popped off in the first 5 min of use. I was cultivating an established raised bed, with soil soft enough to allow me to push in my fingers up to the third knuckle with little effort. The head is attached with what look to be 1/4 aluminum pop rivets. I plan to drill these out and replace them with some stainless steel bolts, with some loctite on the nuts.Up till it broke it was working well and it was easy to use with the wing running just under the surface of the soil. Like I said in the title, it's a great idea, and I hope the one I got was a lemon.5/24/2009 So here's an updateI ground off the failed rivets and found that they are steel, not aluminum. After punching out the stubs I replaced them with a couple of 10/32 stainless steel bolts attached with nylon inset lock nuts. Total cost was about a buck. The winged weeder now works great! I'm very happy with it, and it made short work of cleaning out a dozen 4 x 8 foot raised beds. So, I'm sticking with my original impression. The winged weeder is a great idea, poorly executed. If they'd made the original rivets 1/8" longer the tool would have held together for a lifetime of use. I wonder how many others have junked the tool in disgust or returned for a refund due to Creative spending some fraction of a penny less for each rivet?Updated, June 2016Seven years later and the fixed up version is still going strong. It's great for weeding.

Best Garden Tool Ever
I've been organic gardening since 1959 and this is the BEST garden tool I've ever used. My garden is 50' x 40' with 6 permanent raised beds. I put 4 inches of compost on each raised bed in the spring and a few more inches throughout the growing season. Consequently, when I weed with this tool it glides through the top of the mulch layer easily without much effort at all. I use bark chips to cover my paths between the raised beds. It's easy to keep these completely week free with this tool. The important thing to keep in mind when considering a tool that you will use for several hours at a time is if it is lightweight. This tool is very light and a joy to work with. I've used it almost exclusively for the past two years. No need for any other tools. I weed, cultivate and plant with it. Perfection.

Works Well
This works pretty well as a light cultivator around bedding plants and particularly well with mulch. I've used it a few months now and although the blade seems somewhat springy it seems to be holding up OK. It is definitely better than hacking at the base of a weed with a conventional hoe - the push/pull action on this is more natural and at least as effective. If you're considering a conventional hoe for weeding, I'd suggest trying this first. My only suggestion would be to make the metal blade out of something more substantial/heavier, but then that would add to the weight of the tool.

Is heavy.
I purchased my first Winger Weeder probably fifteen years ago, handle was wood back then. So entire weeder was very light. This weeder is heavy since the handle is metal so becomes tiring to use after a while. I prefer the wood handle and the weeder being light.

Must have for any gardener
I have now owned a couple of these. The design is simplicity itself. The strategically placed sharp points allow easy maneuvering into whatever spot needs loosening or weeding. Because the blade is relatively small, it loosens soil and weeds with minimal effort. My previous Winged Weeders had a simple wooden handle. The adjustable length of this one is a big improvement. Sometimes I shorten it as short as it will go and work from my knees when that seems more sensible. Mostly I adjust it to nearly full length to fit my height.I promise you will be thrilled with this indispensable tool.We are now living in Panama. I offered to let my gardener use my Weeder. Rather than take 5 minutes to play with it and see how easily it does the job, he cast it aside and went with his old clunky hoe which no longer has a handle. He had fashioned a handle from a tree branch. Since I pay him by the hour, I probably should have insisted he use my tool. It would have saved him a lot of time.People are funny....

A Knockoff of the Real Thing
This was to replace an old Winged Weeder I had for years. The old one had razor-sharp blades you could literally cut yourself on. This one is very dull, and the telescoping handle is a gimmick that's not really needed, and what winds up happening is it collapses on you while you're using it, so I'm not a fan. I wish I had my original Winged Weeder that would massacre weeds, but alas, it rusted away. They don't make things like they used to.

Best weeder you can buy
I used this today and loved it. We have had this thpe of weeder in the past nd they are by far the best. You can use it in several different angles. Eventually they break at the rivets in the head. But, that may be after years and years og gardening. I really like that this has an adjustable handle. I will always own this type of weeder. They rock!

This is NOT the "ORIGINAL" Winged Weeder
This is advertised as the "Original" Winged Weeder. It is not the original winged weeder. The original winged weeder had very sturdy wings that were about 2 to 2 and a quarter inches in length. This one has rather flimsy wings that are about 4 to 4 and a half inches long. As a result this tool doesn't do the job that the original winged weeder does and the size and the flimsy quality of the metal wings make it a relatively useless tool for anything other than the the softest of soils, plus the size of the wings make it very difficult (almost impossible) to push and pull through the soil and to manipulate around plants. The real original winged weeder which I purchased about 30+ years ago and which I still have is a fantastic tool. This so called "original" winged weeder is very disappointing and is relatively useless tool.

Awesome weeding tool
Excellent tool for landscaping and weeding. Lightweight but after a week started to show rust. Wish they would use steel or higher grade aluminum. But. Having said that. Save your back weeding and get this !!

Winged weeder
When pushing the weeder away from me to get under the weeds and loosen the soil, the tool does not slide because of how and where the handle is welded to the winged base. Therefore does not slide through the soil. However when pulling towards me, it works fine. If it were all one piece without the welding, it would be fabulous tool.

Recieved broken
This is a good product but the black handle was broken when I received it. There was no packaging materials in the box. It will cost me more to ship it back than to buy a new one.
