BBQ Hooker 1009R 4-in-1 Grilling Tool, Right Handed

This is an item that caught my eye in one of the many e-mails received by Amazon and thought it looked clever, and wasn't too expensive. So far, I've only used it a couple of times, but love the hook on it for chicken and pork chops. Not much different than using a fork I suppose, but way cooler.The only negative I have is the picture and description don't seem to match, which I didn't notice until I saw the picture as I was writing this review. I ordered the right handed version, thinking well, I'm right handed, and the product I received was labled "Right Hand", but apparently what that means to the manufacturer is that the spatula part is on the right hand side of the post, with the hook sticking out to the left. Either way, it was opposite of what I was wanting, but wanted to use it too bad to bother sending it back, which turned out to be a not so big deal, although just a little awkward (backward).Overall, great product and well made.

This item was featured in Real Simple magazine as a Father's Day gift suggestion. I wonder if they actually tested it. It seemed like a great concept, but in actual use it was a complete failure. We have regular family gatherings and 3 guys who can assume grill duties. NOT a single one liked this item and in fact, set it aside and used the standard utensils. A complete waste of money and as it was used, I am stuck with it....maybe it can be used in the yard. :)

Clever gift for the man who has everything. It does have the proper length to keep you from burning your hands, and the spatula works fine for him. The hook was quite handy for rolling hot dogs and sausages over on the grill to cook all sides, but I don't know what he will ever use the saw for...all he makes are burgers, hot dogs, sausage, and a few veggies.As for the beer bottle opener...I can't remember the last time we needed such an opener. Everything is twist or pop top now. I guess it is just something to put on the opposite end of the grilling tools.It has a nice, "manly" feel to it, enhancing his vision of himself as our local Bobby Flay

I purchased two of these, one for my Son and the other for my Brother-in-Law. They are both delighted with this clever little item. I saw it advertised in the Irish Times. I am now looking forward to loads of invitations to THEIR Bar-B-Q's next summer!! Highly recommended as an inexpensive but original and much appreciated gift!!

I love the fact that I ONLY need this tool. I no longer need a spatula for the burgers, and tongs for the steaks.

Neat BBQ tool

What a GREAT gift! I gave this my husband & dad for their birthdays! They just loved this tool!!!! They could not stop talking about how cool the BBQ Hooker was. I bought a right & left hand version, as my husband is right handed and my dad a left handed. (So cool because it fit them both) They started grilling and they just had so much fun with the BBQ Hooker! They were amazed how easy it was to master the hook. They did not have to leave the grill to get a bottle opener to open their cold beer! Thanks BBQ Hooker for creating such a fun and useful gift! They even had BBQ Hooker Aprons...Very Fun!
