Made from a mean kangaroo!
I really like this hat. I did have to exchange the first one I ordered because it was way too large. I'm not a hat expert but it looks like this hat is well made. The only thing I think seems like it's poorly done is the headband. It's attached with hot glue and I think a few stitches. Hot glue just doesn't seem like it belongs on a hat this nice. The hat is very light and comfortable. The color is slightly lighter than the product pictures (but slightly darker than my picture). The leather (suede?) under the brim of the hat is tan - not brown. The metal Barmah tag on the headband can be removed easily (2 tabs bent over) and doesn't leave any holes. The tag isn't covering anything other than more headband. I was glad to see it wasn't covering a visible seam, stitching or glob of glue.I like the natural leather look. It adds character. Buyers need to be prepared for blemishes in the leather though. The original hat I ordered had virtually flawless leather. The leather almost looked "man made". The replacement hat on the other hand must have been made from a mean kangaroo. I won't have trouble figuring out which hat is mine. I love it.

No regrets, the first of many.
This is a lovely hat that really is of the finest quality. It came well packed and not in its crushed state. I initially ordered a medium but had to send it back for a large. I was advised that I would have to pay for the return shipping, but this wasn't the case in the end. The photos don t really do it justice as the grain and inbedded scratches/scars on the leather are very attractive. It is very light and extremely comfortable. I forget it's on sometimes. The brim was flat when it arrived, but has taken on a lovely curve now and in all honesty I can't stop admiring it. It is very well made and I suspect it will last forever and may even be an heirloom one day. I was dubious about spending 79 dollars on this as it was just a hat...but now that I own it...It certainly is alot more than just a hat.

10/10, would buy again.
The hat is a little bit larger than the information lets on, but that means it fits perfectly. Is thinner than I expected, but that means it weighs a fraction of what I feared, too. Oiled up with a good leather preservative (I used Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP), it's quite water resistant and comfortable. Crushes and pops right back out to shape with no issues. Overall, a great hat.

I love this hat!
I wanted an Australian Bushman/Outback style hat for a long time. I looked at a bunch of different ones, and I narrowed it down to the Jacaru Nomad Traveller and this one. Obviously, I went with this one. I'm glad I did! This is a great hat! Where do I begin?! It fits well, its comfortable, its stylish, it's kangaroo leather, its made in Australia, and it doesn't cost a fortune. I've had it for several months now and at first I was worried about the brim losing its shape with wear, but it actually looks like the shape has gotten better. When I got it, the brim looked flatter and it somewhat resembled an American cowboy hat, but now that its getting worn in, its more curved and looks much more like a traditional Aussie Bushman's hat. I wore it on a hunting trip in Canada and it got rained on pretty hard, but I had put some neatsfoot oil on it beforehand, so the water just rolled off. The neatsfoot oil didn't cause the color to change much either. This is a good hat for the outdoors! Its a good hat period! I am 100% sure this hat will last me forever. If you're looking for a good Bushman hat, you've found it!

Hat upgrade
This hat seems to be of high quality materials and construction. It's very light weight, and folds away quite small, much to my surprise. I love the detachable chin strap, and it will be great, if I manage to keep up with it.The only negative I have is that it's so flexible and springy, that the bill kinda jiggles with every move you make. Maybe I will get used to that and it won't be so noticeable in my peripheral vision.

Lightweight comfortable hat for sun and rain protection.
My Go-To hat for leading Kayak EcoTours. The kangaroo leather is lighter weight so it is not as hot as a cow leather hat in the hot South Carolina summers. The wide brim does a great job at preventing sunburn and keeping the rain off my face. They do not float, so don't drop it overboard like I did. This is my second of this model.

I have wanted a good leather hat for most of my life
I have wanted a good leather hat for most of my life, this is the first one and boy do I love this hat. Fits my large head like a dream, its flexible and you can even fold it and place it in a bag if need be. I have never spent this kind of money for a hat - but had I known it would be like this, I sure would have bought one years ago! And it even makes an old guy like me look pretty sharp.

Not a Very Good Hat!
I have several Batman hats and this is by far the worst of the lot... Although the hat fits as expected, it is quite cheap. In less than 2 months, the braid has peeled off, and of course this occurred outside of the exchange period. Bad form!!!
