We purchased this book at the recommendation of a friend. It is a great overview of Urban Farming, along with some extra detail on specific topics. If you are well versed at vegetable gardening and have a small orchard or animals, it is not as useful as it could be. Perfect for someone just starting out. If in doubt, check it out at the library first.

I think the pictures were the first things to astonish me -- varied, helpful and beautiful. I love the combination of history of the urban farming movement and the practical applications for both the beginner and the experienced gardener. Finally Tom Fox's writing is delightful -- clear, with an easy flow and with just the right humor. I've given this book to several friends.Pat O'Rourke

This book was easy and fun to read,with lots of useful info.As a beginner urban farmer I enjoyed every topic,it covers tons of stuff at light pace,not overwhelming or complicated.I love it.

Good source book and full of information for thesmall gardener. Give a really good backgroundon use of city property.
