Not talking about the beveled countersink hole but the pilot hole itself.** A: With the tapered bit pushed all the way into the hex shank, it still protruded 1-5/8" from the tip of the countersink . . . if you need the depth of your pilot hole to be less than 1-5/8", that will not be possible with this product. **Q: What size screw is this for?** A: For softwoods you can use #8 screws with the 3/32 bit. I have even used #9 deck screws on pine without issues. YMMV. **Q: can you replace the piloted countersink bit with an unpiloted countersink bit?** A: if you mean tapered, then yes. i replaced mine with a standard 1/8" bit. you can't remove/replace the countersink part, but you can adjust the depth stop to make it not used (or only barely used) **Q: I want to buy replacement parts for this tool, can somebody give me the part numbers for the tapered bit and for the conter sink part?** A: The drill bit part # is 630-268 and the countersink part we are not provided with.
