Radian is a device that allows you to take stunning motion time lapses with your DSLR or Mirrorless camera, as well as Go-Pro and even your smartphone. Born out of our own frustrations for other devices out there, Radian is compact, easy to use, and powerful. Radian has all the advanced features you need, while still keeping things simple so that you can focus on the shot, and actually enjoy what you are capturing. Radian is programmed by your phone, but unlike other iPhone and Android based camera triggers and devices, you don't need to keep your phone connected. Once you press upload you are free to disconnect your phone without any worry of interfering with your final time lapse. Nikon: F90x, F90, F100, F6, F5 D4, D3, D3x, D3s, D2, D2H, D2Hs, D2X, D2Xs, D1, D1H, D1X, D200, D300, D300x, D300s, D700, D800, D800E & D810, Df, D90, D600, D610, D750, D3100, D3200,D3300, D5000, D5100, D5200, D5300, D7000 and D7100, CoolPix P7800

Bang Your Head Against The Wall
The one thing I appreciate about the Radian is that it failed right out of the box. If it had worked and then failed after 30 days, I wouldn't have been able to return it. The only lapse in time it produced were the hours of frustration I spent trying to get it to work. I'll never be able to get that time back. Customer support tried to help, but in the end it was a dead machine.Alpine Labs makes a lot of assumptions about their new customers. They assume we all know the difference between R2 and R1, and that we will know what a "Fresh Desk" is (sounds like "fresh sets" in their video) or what a "Ticket" is. This only adds to the confusion and frustration in trying to get this product to work. It's certainly not as easy as they try to make it sound. Also the non-replaceable lithium battery sealed inside the Radian is bad news for photographers working out in the field for days on end with no way to charge their unit. It took over 8 hours to charge mine when it arrived. Even though this one was made for Nikon, It does not support Nikon's Time-lapse Photography feature that will convert all your time-lapse photos into a movie right inside the camera. The user is forced to take hundreds of photos and then convert them at home on a computer. It would have been nice to have a choice. Before I purchased the Radian I read a review on Amazon talking about how easy it was to use and that it always worked, "ALWAYS". I was sold right away and couldn't wait for my unit to arrive. When it did, reality set in, and now I regret making that purchase. That reviewer has the exact same review for the Canon version as well, complete with pictures. I also noticed there is no "Verified Purchase" under his name like my review has, leading me to believe that Alpine Labs could be planting positive reviews on Amazon to increase sales. If that's true then their whole add campaign could be a sham as well. Anyway, I'm just glad I could get my money back. Live and learn.

The Best in Motion Time-Lapse
As the founder of More Than Just Parks, I have to say this is THE product that we use the most in the creation of all our short films. In case you are unfamiliar with how it works it is very simple. You connect your camera to the radian, tell it how many degrees (if at all) you would like it to rotate and press 'Upload'. That's it! Unbelievably versatile and so easy to use, this is the best piece of time-lapse equipment currently on the market. Here's why:1. Set up is SO easy and fast. Radian runs off the sort of smartphone app interface you wish all of your favorite tech had. Total setup time is typically less than three minutes as compared to most time-lapse devices that take ages upon ages to get ready. I cannot stress enough how important this is when on location.2. It always works, I mean ALWAYS. I cannot stress how important this is. You know those times when the clock is winding down, light running out, perfect lapse fading away, you finally get everything set up, hit the proverbial "GO" button aaaaandd........... nothing, lapse, ruined, shoot over. Not me! Not anymore anyway... Radian is the most reliable time-lapse device I have ever used. In the 1000+ time-lapses I have shot using Radian not a single one has failed or malfunctioned, not one!3. The possibilities are endless. Attach it to an Alpine Labs L-Bracket, set it on a motion slider, and you've got yourself an amazingly sophisticated shot without the difficulty of an overly complicated set up! Amazing for star-lapses, landscapes, panoramas, and just about anything time-lapse.4. Perhaps the best part - it costs less than $300! Good motion time-lapse equipment is supposed to be expensive, right? Wrong says Alpine Labs! All of their gear is amazingly affordable and well within reach for the hobbyist or independent filmmaker. In closing, with this device Alpine Labs has secured their position atop the motion time-lapse game. Well done guys.
