Deluxe Doctoral Graduation Gown Hood and Tam Package

Nice just some flaws if you care about details and the actual color.
Like others have said it runs large. I’m 5’6 and went smaller but it’s still long, to my lower shins, and the arms are long as well. Nice material. Just needs steamed.Noticed a lot of sewing detail flaws in the velvet and piping. One bar is completely curved and not angled which I noticed immediately ( see image) Part of the piping didn’t get sewn properly and was sewn inside. Otherwise it’s acceptable and reasonably priced.Tam is adjustable by using Velcro. Tam isn’t as nice as the gown in my opinion. The velvet is thin and seems cheap. Not sewn precisely as well. Some areas are sharp and pointed while others are curved. But the tassel is nice quality and it sewn on.Blue on the hood is NOT royal blue. It’s more of a navy blue. It looks royal on the inside but a different panel is used and it’s darker in the part showing once the hood is flipped.Estimated arrival date was in December. It’s the end of October. SO very pleased it arrived early. It’s shipping from Korea.

Order a size down; great quality for the price point! Extra fabric was pinned to make a pocket.
I never went to my doctoral graduation so I needed robes to wear for my student's graduation. This was about $300 less than any other place so I was skeptical. Real skeptical. The cons:The sleeves are a bit short and it comes larger than expected around.Someone needs to put pockets in this.Tam is not great quality but let's face it--we all hate the hat.The pro's:So I took that extra fabric, folded it in vertically on either side, and made like a pleat--which I pinned to make pockets! I didn't have to hold that ridiculous program from graduation that we all end up rolling up, and instead I slid it into my newfound portofolio style pockets. I also got my phone in there, and my keys! This is actually a really nice quality. It doesn't wrinkle, the hood held up well, the pleats are sharp, and the gold cording around the blue arm stripes is really well sewn in. The gathers at the back are well done, too.I would like the option to order one with lining (mainly b/c I have to wear this yearly for events so this wasn't a one time deal), and I'd like to see pockets. Please. Pockets. You will not be disappointed. Save the $300 and get the exact same quality here. Highly recommend.

Just disappointed
I first ordered my set because everyone that I was graduating with ordered from there. I ordered it in February it came in March and I can't describe just how it was fitting except I looked like a clown. The arms were short and the gown too big. The tam didn't fit. I really didn't worry cause I figured I had a little time to get it to together. The company told me they would send me a new one and don't worry. Two days before my graduation, May 15th I received my robe and one arm is bunched up and I now have to find a seamstress to try and straighten it out by the end of the day on the 16th with my graduation on the 17th. I am very disappointed in the quality of my purchase although only one other had a complaint with the arms too long but she had some one to fix it. No one else complained so I felt like I was in good hands. They did write me and try to fix my problem, I even sent my measurements as requsted. I don't know why mine came out like this. Its taking everything within me not to cry because I have one day to work some kind of miracle. I don't know if I would use them again. Like I said everyone else's robes were fine with the exception of the long arms on one. I'm just the only one that had the problem. I do thank them for working with me and I wish them success in fitting the next customers right.

Not built for a woman's frame
The price for this product can't be beat. Comparable gowns are much more expensive, and yet even with the lower price, it felt like a quality garment. The reason I took off stars is because the fit is not good. These gowns are obviously intended for men, however due to a lack of options for women, I placed my order using their sizing chart. The sizing is based on height alone, which is really a problem for a woman's frame. Although the length of the gown is correct for my height, the shoulder cut is meant for a man, and on my feminine frame, the shoulders are half-way down my arms. The sleeves are so long that my arms can not extend out the ends of the sleeves. Due to the extensive seamwork in the garment, alterations will be very complicated.

Way way too large
Way off on the sizing. Much too large. I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs, and ordered a size down so size 48 (for 5'3" to 5'5"). It looked comical on me - the sleeves were so huge and long that not even my fingertips (with arm and hand stretched out) peeked at the end. Length was also too much to my ankle bone. Returned.

great - as a clown costume
Oh, my. Here is the deal. If you are 6 feet tall this will probably work for you. The quality is decent. If you are small, and ordering the smallest size, the sleeves will make you look like a clown. I think they put the sleeves together in one size regardless of the size of the gown ordered. Seriously, one sleeve has as much, or more, fabric that the entire body of the 54" gown.I am not sure if I am going to try and send it back, or rework the sleeves.

Quality fabric; cheap zipper - good value for the price
Sizing is true to size; sleeves are a bit puffy, but that is expected for a doctoral robe. It's not too much. The fabric is not chintzy, but the zipper is cheap so you have to be careful when you put it on. For the price, however, this is a very good value and since I expect to be wearing this only once or twice a year, it should suffice.

Quantity Attire and Luxurious
The Deluxe Graduation attire is exceptional beautiful. The fit to size is a good guidance; however, the Ladies need to be mindful of the type shoes wearing with this attire because my high heels, I needed a longer length. I requested a refund and reordered.
