## Description

TEAR-AID Repair Patches provide a simple and easy method of patching holes and tears, as well as an excellent protective film solution. Each TEAR-AID Repair Patch is made from an exceptionally tough, matte finish, abrasion resistant, elastomer that resists puncture and tearing. It is combined with an aggressive adhesive formulated for high bond strength. Tear-Aid expands absorbing force on impact and always returns to original shape and size. This flexibility allows the patch to conform to irregular surfaces without restricting the movement of the repaired material. The TEAR-AID Type B vinyl repair patch sticks to - Vinyl and Vinyl-coated material ONLY. Vinyl has oils that are absorbed by most adhesives which causes the adhesive to turn gooey, gummy, and ultimately lose bond. Tear-Aid vinyl repair patches contain an inhibitor that blocks the oils found in vinyl resulting in a long lasting repair. Review: FIXED A 5 INCH TEAR IN AN AEROBED! - So my husband, being thoughtful, put a 5 inch tear in our aerobed..long story! I purchased this item and Coghlans 8880 airstop. I fixed it and its held up through guest visits without budging... For those of you, like me, who were lost as to how to fix this at first, here's how I did it: I cut the tear-aid strip in half....I then cleaned the inside edges of the tear with the alcohol wipe included...very carefully I put a strip in the matress and attached it underneath the tear, sticky side facing out of the matress/tear at me. I did this for extra insurance. It was dificult. The tear didnt come together perfectly, there was about 1/8-1/4"gap...which is OK...it also bunched up a bit in the last corner I attached. Not a problem. It was really tricky though....that strip is really sticky and once its onmits on...dont mess with it! Have a small handed person do this part...I did require my husbands help holding the rest of the area flat. Then I cleaned the outside and went about applying 5 coats of the 8880 airstop. It was time consuming, but easy. Lastly, when that was dry, I cleaned the area again (with the same wipe....it was a little wet wipe pouch thing.., I tore it near the top and put the wipe back in and rolled the top...it lasted through the whole process-my husband left his out and it was a goner in 5 mins!), then applied the second tear-aid strip over the whole thing... It has held up great and was used for a guest that night! Much better than scrapping a $100+ air matress. The strip on the inside really did the trick. It was the hardest part, but worth the extra insurance! Good luck!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Would this work on an air mattress (with a slightly flocked surface)?**
A: Does not work on flocked surface. Does not even stick to it, falls simply off. Tried to us sand surface, did not help. DO NOT recommend for air mattress with fuzzy surface.

**Q: would this work to fix patch a vinyl convertible top?**
A: if applied correctly and on a clean surface, I have no doubt that it would work. I liked the product very much.

**Q: would this work to patch a Polyethylene tarp? (slightly different material from vinyl)**
A: I used the type B to repair my vinyl canopy cover. I have also used it to repair a tarp which I believe is made of poly. I don't recall what the type A product is used to repair and suggest investigating what it is used for first. It may be made for repairing poly.

**Q: do you think this would work on a damaged area on a vinyl window frame?**
A: I am not sure. I will cover a damaged area to help hold it together but if the window frame you are talking about is so old that it is cracking it might just buy you time. The tape is clear so if there are any gaps in the frame this will not fill them in. I hope this helps you.

So my husband, being thoughtful, put a 5 inch tear in our aerobed..long story! I purchased this item and Coghlans 8880 airstop. I fixed it and its held up through guest visits without budging... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for vinyl repairs

I have used this product to repair several small leaks in my Shur Trax water weight bag for my pickup truck. Tear-Aid is easy to use and stopped the leaks as described. I did notice that for all three leaks it take longer than 24 hours for the repair patch to bond completely. In one case it took close to a week to completely stop the leak. However, once it does bond it seals completely and I have not had a single drop of water leak out of a repaired tear or hole. The package is no problem to store and I keep it in my truck toolbox so I always have it handy. Cuts to size and shape easily with just a regular household scissor and works fine on seams, corners and flat areas. Stays adhered in very hot and very cold weather. I am very pleased with this product and glad I found it here on Amazon.
