The rod holder is adjustable 180 degrees with 3 locking positions for transporting or low speed light tackle trolling, but it is adjustable to any position with the thumbscrew. To attach the vacuum cup, all you have to do is make sure you have a smooth clean surface, moisten the seal, and pump the Versa Rod until the red line is no longer showing. The Paddleboard model has a paddle saddle that will hold your SUP paddle at an easy to reach height. The saddle has an anti-slip pad that securely holds the paddle in place even if a roller comes through. If you have a cooler on you SUP the VersaRod will mount to any of your flat sided coolers. You can also use the Paddleboard version on any other watercraft it will just have the paddle saddle off to the side. Made in the USA!
