Except one of the book corners had a little bit of damage because of shipping, American edition of this commentary is perfectly fine and readable. An excellent and essential tool for your Bible study as it is a reliable source. It's true what Mr. Wiersbe says of this as, ‘For the Bible student who's serious about seeing Christ’, the living Word in the written Word.

This is one of the best commentary's I have ever purchased over fifty years of preaching and only purchased recently. and from a person now in much more understanding of the prophetic books of the Bible Daniel, Ezekiel and Zechariah Matthew 13 the parables and chapter 24 same book the end times when Jesus comes again for starters. The writer went to glory only a few years ago and walked with God as did Enoch. East to understand if you approach it in the right open spirit and checking every word with the Scriptures themselves. Even a cursory read through certain passages in this book have proved it to be completely biased and it makes presuppositions that are not supported biblically. I therefore consider it untrustworthy to use as a commentary and returned it straight away.

For the conservative evangelical Christian this is a 'must have' commentary. Although the comments are brief, as you would expect in a one volume commentary of the whole Bible, they are to the point and no less valuable for that. Add to that a nice clear text on a good quality paper, and you have a volume well worth every penny. If you don't have a copy already, order one today. You won't regret it. An excellent buy from any perspective.

If I could have only one commentary on the Bible, this would be it!Normally commentaries that cover the whole bible jump over the questions you really want answerd. McDonald deals with them head on, giving the different points of view that pertain to the problem and then which one he would hold and why.Clearly in a book that covers the whole bible it will not give in-depth discussion but great to give a good overview of each book and, as aready stated, written in clear English. There is a little more depth in the New Testament than the Old, but the book is to highly recommended to anyone who wants to have a foundational knowledge as to what the bible is about and how it all works together. The commentary is best read in conjunction with the bible and not on its own.McDonald spent a lifetime of study in the Scriptures and his stance is what would be called "Conservative Evangelical". It is soundly scriptural and one would be hard pressed to challenge it

A fantastic commentary, this is my second purchase lost my first one or did I give it away to a friend to read.? Not hard to understand real simple but thorough. And not to theological wrote. Good for me good for you. Always have it handy beside me. If you don't have one. Awaken here is your excellent study tool. No joking.
