Didn’t sprout
The seeds were planted in fertile well prepared soil approximately 25 days ago and have not sprouted. Very disappointed.

Canary date palm seeds
So I got these seeds in an envelope about a month ago. and I wasn't really sure what to expect both before and after I planted them). I had bought the seeds since the costs of date palm trees are so expensive. And for canary datepalms, the costs are in the thousands.I had seen a lot of reviews from people who had planted them and wrote reviews before the seeds even sprout saying, "Got the seeds! I hope they sprout! They haven't sprouted yet!"well.... the way I see it, a seed that doesn't sprout is not a seed at all. They might as well have sent you pieces of colored gravel. That's why I waited a month... and all my seeds have sprouted. It is really easy and really exciting.I followed the directions and placed the seeds in a plastic baggie with wet moss and 2 weeks later, ROOTS! No special pre-treatment and no pre-soak was done.I would suggest one thing to make your life easier AFTER the seeds start root development. purchase peat pots (those small biodegradable pots for starting seedlings) and as soon as you see root development, transfer each seedling into a peat-pot and cover with soil. This makes keeping track of seedlings easier. You waste less soil. and when it's time to transfer to a bigger pot, you don't have to disrupt the roots by removing them from the pots they're in. Just plant the peat pot itself into a planter/pot/ground. also, if you transfer out of the baggies soon after the roots start, you don't have to worry about entangled roots of different seeds being broken. Now I just have to layback and wait about 10 years for the seedlings to grow into something I'll recognize as a date palm! :-)

Nothing yet...3 weeks in, instructions need to be re-written by someone who speaks English.
I placed 5 seeds in a tupperware container on a moist paper towel on top of my water heater to keep them warm, and they have begun to get covered in fuzzy mold. Any tips to avoid this? I also tried 5 seeds just barely planted in palm soil, moist and covered with saran wrap to keep the moisture in. It's next to a window, so it will warm during daylight. No sprouts yet. I also soaked all 10 seeds in bottled water for 24 hours before beginning these 2 processes. Any tips? It's been weeks with nothing. I have some seeds left, but I don't want to waste them on nothing that works. The instructions that came with the seeds called for using a soil type that cannot even be purchased in the US, and the English on the instructions was almost unable to be read, as it was terrible grammar.

90% germination
Received on time and 90% of the seeds germinated, even though I used an unorthodox method of germinating them.Would have had better luck if I'd been more informed as a beginner.I also found out after I ordered them that they will grow some nasty thorns that can cause infections and arthritis if not removed by a doctor, but this is strictly my lack of research! As of now one has survived and is doing very well inside my home in a pot.It was a fun adventure even though only one made it.If I could give a pointers, I would use moist soil in a zip lock bag in a warm place, they should sprout within a week or two.Good luck!

Never germinated
I am giving these seeds three stars because they took a long time to arrive by Amazon's standards, and they never germinated. I followed the directions, and did what it asked. Within four months they are supposed to germinate, but they never did. Perhaps luck wasn't with me, you may have better results.

Not even date palm seeds
Absolutely terrible. After seeing real canary Island date palm seeds I don't even think I was sent the correct seeds. I finally pulled some off a local tree and they don't even resemble what I was sent. I couldn't get any of them to germinate. Don't buy these things.
