The Barmaid, Cocktail Glass Rimmer, Margarita Salter

Good enough product. Works as described with some fiddling and figuring it out. Made a mess before I figured out you have to gently tilt it outward which holds it against the glass. The best part that I like about the barmaid is that I can leave the lemon flavored sugar in it and use it when I want a cocktail. Don't have to get out a dish anymore. Much like a salt shaker the sugar stays pretty good inside.

I'm not sure if the other 3 reviews were "plants" or what. But four of us tried to use this (2 are engineers) and it dumped more salt on the counter than on the rim. Also did a very uneven job. I guess you could turn it into a party game -- see who can get the most on the glass (versus the floor or counter), but I'd rather be drinking the drink than cleaning up the mess.

Nearly impossible to rim the glass with this thing. The salt just streams out on to the counter or into the glass.

OK - I ordered this as a gift for my mother - who loves her Margaritas salty. And she likes to apply more salt as she drinks along as well. She always seems to make a mess - that is why I got her this.It does a decent job - although the first time we used it it was kind of messy with most of the salt landing on the counter instead of the glass. Three of us tried each one doing better - with the engineer actually ending up with all the salt on the glass. : - )He said it was just how you held it - angle-wise and how quickly you pushed the button and how quickly you moved the glass around (must have something to do with complicated math : - ). The other two of us did better the more we played with the factors mentioned above. We still can not get it as perfect as our engineer friend - but much better than the first time we tried it.It is a bit pricey - but there is also nothing else like it out there on the market.As for the games played on this site - it appears that 4 of the other 5 reviews are plants. I hate when companies do that. All of these 'reviewers' are based in Boston - where the company is. And they do not have any other reviews except for the barmaid and other barmaid products.They loose a star in their ratings for this simple fact alone.Otherwise - all I can say is try it - and practice a bit. You can always send it back to the company if you do not like it - although it will cost you shipping and a restocking fee...Regardless - my mom likes her 'new toy' - although I am sure she does not know how much I paid for it...

I received my Barmaid as a gift along with the cocktail spice sampler. We used it at the party and a lot of fun was had by all rimming drinks. Everyone was adding their own rims to their drinks. The ladies really liked it because some wanted more sugar on their rim, then others. The Barmaid let them control how much they added. It made the party more fun as people passed it around and compared rims.

I've been using the barmaid to rim my drinks for a couple months now, and I love it! It's so simple to use and store - no more throwing out half used dishes of clumpy salt! Also, the company offers some really yummy cocktail spices that are so much better than regular salt and sugar. Sweet Mint is my favorite! I brought the Barmaid, filled with Sweet Mint, to a backyard BBQ with mojitos, and it was a huge hit! Everyone was able to rim their own glass, so they could put as much, or as little, as they wanted. It was also fun and interactive - a conversation piece, for sure!The best part is that it makes a great gift. I've put together two margarita-themed gift baskets so far, with margarita glasses, the Barmaid, a mix pack of Lime Tree Cove spices, margarita mix, and limes. Both people loved them!

What a fantastic idea! I love margaritas with salt, but the problem is that I run out of salt on the glass before I finish the drink.The Barmaid is the brilliant solution to that problem. You can resalt your glass while you still have a drink in it! Simply run a lime around the edge and use the Barmaid drink rimmer. And I love that there are so many flavor options. You can have fun experimenting with the various cocktail recipies and flavor combinations.And, you know how messy it gets trying to dip your glass into the salt. The Barmaid is great for rimming cocktails while outback entertaining guests when BBQing. We make our margaritas by the pitcher and used to skip the rim before we got one of these handheld drink rimmers. The Barmaid gets a two thumbs up rating from me and my wife.
