After 2 months, compares favorably to Birkenstocks
I bought these and a pair of Fitory Birk knockoffs. These were superior to the Fitory. The buckles are double riveted vs single with cheaper sandals. I have more faith they will survive time. The soles may be just EVA but have worn well, far better than the Fitory, but a little softer than the Birks. Over time you will need to take a knife and add heel savers or resole completely with superior soles. The build quality is above what I was expecting for these, and will be worth repairing as they age. The corkbeds have held well over the abuse I put them thru. I cannot confirm the cork sole is solid or a foam fill with cork veneer, but it has passed my break in test and remains comfortable. The uppers are suede, but the underside of the upper that touches the tops of your feet are some kind of soft synthetic. Comfortable, but I'm disappointed yet not surprised, as suede doesn't have the strength that top grain leather does. Overall, this is a strong replacement for Birks, not quite as good, but you will be happy. Overall it comes up short on the soles and the upper. All else they hold their own.

Initial experience is great!
I've put two days on these, and the fit and wear is great. This is how I use them: I bike to work, which can leave your feet damp or wet, depending. About 8 years ago I realized that keeping a couple of pairs of Birkenstock's in my desk drawer and wearing them around the plant kept my feet dry and breathable, plus I could kick them off under my desk when I wanted. So, I went to wearing Birks at the office full time. The office portion of my workplace is about the size of a football field and two floors, so I do a reasonable bit of walking. The reason I chose these is that my select style of Birks is now $135 on REI. You can get them closer to $100, but that's still too much for what you're buying. I've been repairing my Birks for years. Birks are not indestructible. The heels wear and the cork cracks. I band saw off the heel of the sole and replace it with Birk-like sole material. I maintain the cork with sealer and re-glue with Barge cement. In short, I'm pretty familiar with the construction and wear-ability of cork based sandals. My initial assessment of the TF Star version of a "cork sandal" is that they're extremely similar to the Birkenstock's. The upper is man-made, but so is one pair of my Birkenstock's. The flexibility, out of the box, is similar to new Birkenstock's. My Birkenstock's are a 41M and the TF Star are 8's (USA). While that matches on the size chart, the 8's are a tad shorter (say 3/16 of an inch) than the 41 at the big toe and the same at the small toe. I don't know if this is a difference between manufacturers or difference in the actual measurement of the 41 vs. 8(usa).The feel of the TF Star was great. I've worn these around the plant for two work days so far, and I'm loving them. I have a reasonably high arch and I thought the foot support was great. I don't want to say they feel better than the Birk's just out of the box.... but maybe.... I haven't had new Birk's in a few years.Longevity: Obviously, with just 2 days on them, I can't tell yet. Between my pairs at work, these will probably get 2 days a week as I phase out the pair these were meant to replace (3 strap Birks with man-made upper that's just about torn through). If these disappoint me for some reason, I'll definitely be back to this review to comment.

Finally! Relief from plantar fasciitis!!!
After several painful weeks of battling plantar fasciitis and trying various stretching exercises, physical therapy techniques and ordering numerous orthotics from Amazon, I decided to try these sandals.Almost immediately, after putting them on, my foot pain diminished very significantly. After a few days, I thought that maybe Birkenstocks would be even better, so I bought a pair of Birks, but they did not work for me. I suspect it's because I have such flat feet, and the Birkenstocks have a very high arch support which did not make my instep happy. But the TF Stars have been fantastic and they are pretty much all I can wear comfortably. My daughter and grandkids all wear Birkenstocks and they love them. Unfortunately the Birkenstocks hurt my feet, but these TF Star sandals don't!Overall, these TF Star sandals have been a life saver. We had a 2 week trip scheduled and in spite of my foot problems, I couldn't get out of going. Fortunately these sandals gave me the pain relief I needed to travel and to do a considerable amount of walking. I would say my pain is reduced by 90% when I am wearing these sandals. I liked them so much I ordered a second pair!!!

Size 9 fits womens 11w perfect
I am a women’s 11w, and could not find my size in the name brand. Since the style is pretty gender neutral, I took a chance. I think these would be perfect for men, but are also good for larger sized women feet. They are comfortable right away, and have been very durable for me with everyday wear (I don’t take long walks or hike in these, so can’t speak to that kind of wear). I would recommend these as a well priced alternative to the big brand.

Looks and feels like a Birkenstock...for 1/4 the cost. Time will tell
I've been wearing Birkenstocks for 25 years and wanted a new pair. For the price I decided to give these a try.I am pleasantly surprised at the look and comfort. They feel very much like the Birks I'm used to. One thing to note... the uppers appear to be real suede/leather, but they DO have a synthetic backing against your skin. I'm not sure how this will wear over time. Also, after wearing them just one week, I am starting to notice early tread wear and am wondering how quickly they'll be bald. The rubber soles seem softer than Birks. I found a small stone in them last night and already see a few permanent indentations from gravel, etc.Several reviews say they run large. I normally wear a Men's 13...so I decided to go with a 12. It fit well enough to keep them, but now I wonder if a 13 would have been better. Sometimes a toe or two seems to hang a little over the front. I've worn them outside for a week, so I'm not going to try and return them now. They are not uncomfortable.Overall, I am very happy. Especially for the price. I've had Birks last 5-10 years....and my wife still wears some from 20 years ago! I doubt these will hold up that long, but I'll probably get my money's worth.

Order a size SMALLER than usual.
I wear 11's in pretty much every brand. Some brands like New Balance, I need an 11.5 or 12.I ordered an 11 in these sandals, and they are huge. At least one size too big, maybe a size and a half. Quality seems okay for the price. No strong odours. The stickers on the sole are kind of in a silly spot, as they leave a mark when you remove them.Guess I bought my bigfoot friend a present. I might take a crack at some real Birks now...

Weird fit
The quality seemed alright, but the reviews to size down were correct that the cork is much larger than expected; however, the reviews to size up are *also* correct because the shoe band fits tight and you can’t slide your foot up the whole way. For the price, if you had weird alien clown feet, I think these would be an incredible deal! But for earthlings, it’s just a guaranteed return.

As good as ECCO or Birks, honestly!
I want to start by saying I've been wearing identical sandals to these for 40 years. Always ECCO or Birkenstocks. Bought these for my Aruba vacation because my old ones were done, and these has 1 day shipping. Been here for 10 days, wearing these sandals absolutely everywhere, and I've never had a pair of shoes fit my feet so well right out of the box! The leather is so soft, and the soles are great quality cork just like the brands that charge 5 times as much. I plan on buying 5 more pairs so I have them the rest of my life. Great sandals.

Almost as good as the brand name
I got this pair after trying 3 different alternatives to the brand name none were satisfactory. This one was the cheapest and after a month of wearing it daily at home It has held up very well and it feels great. Just a word of caution the cork type sandals feel very firm, if you have not had a Birk before and not used to the firm feel you might not like it. I will buy this pair again in a heart beat.

Nice sandals, but order one size smaller.
I recently purchased these sandals as replacements for my broken indoor slippers. This time I wanted something more sturdy and not too hot for wearing indoors.I followed other reivews for this product and ordered one size smaller. They fit perfectly. Usually I wear 9-9.5 but this time I ordered 8 which usually would be way too small for me. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.
