Practical DesignThis magnet was specifically designed with magnet fishing in mind. Our magnets are made of high-grade Nd-Fe-B materials. Neodymium magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses.Data based on scientific measurement Pulling Force: 400 lbs1. We used a 1.5 cm thick A3 high quality steel as the test floor.2. After many measurements, we have obtained scientific and rigorous measurements by pulling the hook at a uniform speed on professional equipment.Several Important Factors Affecting the Tensile Force of Magnets1.Only when the thickness of the tested steel reaches a certain level, the magnetic flux through its cross section would be the largest and the leakage magnetic field between the magnetic poles is the smallest, the tensile energy can reach the ideal value.2.Only when the force is perpendicular to the contact surface can the tension reach the maximum. When the force is parallel to the contact surface, the pulling force can only reach 1/3 maximum.3.Magnets attract only magnetizable materials such as iron, cobalt, nickel and their alloys. It can not attract non-ferromagnetic plates such as aluminum, copper, wood, plastics and stainless steel.4.The farther the magnet is from the magnetic material, the greater the leakage magnetic field and the smaller the pull force would be. Therefore, the surface paint adsorbed by magnets is also an important factor affecting the pulling force of magnets.WARNING1.Keep away from pacemakers.2.Powerful magnets can hurt your fingers.3.Not for children, parental supervision required.4.Please wear a pair of gloves when you handle them for your safety.5.All magnets may chip and shatter, but if used correctly can last a lifetime.6.The maximum working temperature of neodymium iron boron magnetic is 176 F (80 C)

Good magnet to start magnet fishing with
I bought this to get started with magnet fishing. It's a good starter magnet. Not too strong where if it get stuck to something it can't be pulled off by hand but strong enough to attach to whatever you might find in the water. The only issue I saw with this set is there was no mention of using some sort of thread lock on the eyelet threads. It's super important to do this to not lose the magnet from the eyelet becoming loose.I've used this magnet many times in several locations and it's holding up well. The rope has some spots where the outer covering has split exposing the inner part of the rope but it still works great. The magnet holds up great. I haven't taken much care of the magnet (besides using thread lock) using it in fresh and salt water and there is some rust forming under the coating but the magnet still works great. The gloves that come with the set are good enough to protect your hands from any sharp metals but do nothing to keep your hands clean and dry. I would suggest to ditch the gloves for some fully coated PVC gloves and use the rope until it gets worn and replace it.Great magnet, great carabiner, good rope, ok gloves.

400 lbs is a little over rated
The package was nice that it had the rope, gloves and magnet. I noticed that after one day in the sun, the rope started to lose it's color. Still works so far, just not the bright red it started out as. The magnet says it has 400 lbs pull.... this must be under ideal conditions or I'm superman because when this is stuck on a metal dock I can still pull it off. My guess is I could lift a 25 pound item with it..

Strong Meteorite finding, or treasure underwater magnet.
It has a solid disc covering for protecting the magnet, and a solid hook up, for a rope, which also come's with a pair of glove's. I have another magnet that came with a cover, by itself and cost much more, no bolt/no rope. If I was to use this in water, I'd use a Polypropylene rope. Their made for water & are much stronger. Make sure you tie a strong knot

Great Magnet, but
I have ordered this twice now. The magnet is great, very useful for what we use it for. We use it for diving for items people have lost. But, the first time I ordered it, it didnt have the rope or the clip with it. But, over all a great buy, but just wish it came with the rope the first time I ordered it.

Very Powerful Magnet
This is great for attracting and holding all sorts of metal objects. Hypothetically, one could even use it to remove an RFID tag from a garment that the person legally purchased, but was shipped with the tag still attached. In the hypothetical situation, the magnet would work to release the tag as soon as the individual held it over the tag.

Arr
Haven't found anything but tiny magnetic rocks yet but I just know I'll find some treasures.......or junk soon lol

Get a stronger one
Tested only once so far, but the magnet doesn’t seem overly strong for (400lbs). I’d recommend someone buy a larger magnet.

Dont think it will last long
Magnet is very strong if sitting flat. Worked well to fish some items out of water.Only it isn't very durable. Although it still works, the actual magnet exposed on bottom has already large cracks along its surface.
