The Curious Bartender's Whiskey Road Trip: A coast to coast tour of the most exciting whiskey distilleries in the US, from small-scale craft operations to the behemoths of bourbon Review: As close as you can get to touring America's distilleries without getting in the car - Such a fantastic read... I picked this up a few years ago when I was first starting to get into bourbon. This book gives you a comprehensive understanding of how different whiskeys are made, from distillation, different aging techniques, choosing a mash bill, sour mash vs sweet, types of stills and why they are used, how raw ingredients and regions impact flavor.... you name it. It's a very approachable book whether you're a seasoned whiskey veteran, or just getting started. The chapters are short, but lots of pictures, explanations and a brisk pace make this a great book to binge or to read sparingly. I would recommend this to just about anyone who loves (or is getting ready to love) whiskey. Review: Great gift - Great quality and good content

Awesome Book on the Subject
I really like the way this author covered the subject in a very reader-oriented way that explains the process of making whiskey depending on what part of the U.S. you happen to be. If he has traveled a ton of more places in the world, I would love to read such a volume on the subject for all of Europe, to include Africa. Finally it would be cool if he wrote a volume about whiskies from the Far East countries that would include below the equator such as Australia and New Zealand. I do know that Japan has a variety of distilleries that make their version of whiskey called, Saki. One such distillery that is uniquely only located on Okinawa, Japan, is called, Awamori. Yum, Yum!! No, I'm not asking for much, but wouldn't it be AWESOME???

book arrived early, perfect in everything, except maybe for a factory defect, but by opening the cover, I find myself almost detached from the whole book
