Electronic Keyless Door Lock Set - Bright Brass Finish (For Right-Hinged Doors Only)

I love electronic door locks. It elimates the hassles of coming in and out of the house and leaving your keys in the house. These locks look great and would be great except for a few flaws. Here is the good. The door lock looks great, simi easy to install. Keypad lights up a nice blue on the outside when you touch a key and I love the straigt handle of the round. You can have several combonations to get in. It also has a key if your lock fails to open say do to batteries have died. (Original batteries do not last very long) The quality looks somewhat good. The handle is solid, the toach keypad is responsive. It makes a beep sound for each key. Ok, now the bad. I have two of these. The first unit when testing the manual key lock I inserted the key and turned. The lock would still not open. Upon inspection on the inside of the unit there seems to be a quality control issue. The parts on the inside where not very good quality or poorly molded to specs allowing the lock to not work on one of the two units. Also, on the same unit the gold paint on the number keypad has flaked off so you can see the keys that are used the most. They should have embeded those numbers in the keypad instead of painting the numbers or decaling them on. I willmost likeling not purchase these unites again as a result. I will spend the extra $25-$30 each and get a better quality unit. This would have been a great lock had someone beefed up the quality control. Oh and united shipped quickly.

This was appropriately priced and functional after a little work. The plunger was made of inferior metal and failed in the first couple of days. A brand-name replacement and no trouble since. The color is starting to come off a couple of numbers, but the unit works as expected and doesn't "eat" batteries. It's nice to have the light at night and looks fancy. Overall, I'm satisfied.

Bought two of these locks, a left and a right hinged one. One of the locks, the right hinged one worked for 4 months and then quit one me, despite battery changes. The left hinged one did not work at all and was replaced and the replacement one did not work either. I am now back to my original keyed locks and looking for other solutions! Oh, and the key which can be used to open the door, snapped off at the shaft and I had to use a plier to get that one out! Two stars because one of them worked for 4 months!

I purchased this in the brass color for a bedroom door. Installation was simple without any issues.The only issue I have is that the batteries go dead without any notice. That means it's important to store the emergency override keys in a secure location outside of the room where you are installing the keypad! Sometimes after installing new batteries, I hit the memory button in error. If that's your case also, then just reprogram your code and your good to go. This has worked for us since 2011 (it's been 8 years) without any issues.1) Remove back cover, 2) Installed the batteries as instructed. 3) Press the memory button to reprogram the factory preset code. 4) Locate and press and release the small round black memory button (under the batteries),the keypad will beep twice and remain lit. 5) Select a pass code using 3 to 8 numbers and enter it on the keypad. 6) After entering the numbers, press "#" or "*". The key pad will again beep twice. That's it!

I purchased this for indoor use,very easy to install and put a new code.Lights up when the numbers punch in(another plus).addendum 10/17/2012;I am changing my rating because after 8 months this lock failed to work properly,lock doesn't work anymore even though I tried to reset and kept changing batteries,after all I don't recommend this lock anymore

First one arrived and would not accept any code I tried. The company sent a new one promptly. It works fine. Nice looking, easy to use. I am hopeful it will hold up to daily use.

This product worked well but then all of a sudden it would not work at all. I had it only installed for about 2 weeks with new batteries. So i tried to replace the batteries. Make sure you use top of the line batteries. Otherwise it will not have enough power to operate. During the course of this action the program black button popped off when I took off the back cover. The unit is now working again but i don't think i will be able to reprogram the unit. It is now a month later and now the unit has completely stopped working. I have only had this unit installed for 3 months at the most. I was able to unlock the door with the key but when i pushed the code in to open the door, it just beeped and nothing would happen.

This lock works just fine. Only one thing is kind of annoying. It makes somewhat loud sound every time you press the button. If you need to open the door on the middle of the night then you have an opportunity to wake up everyone in the house.
