CamoSystems Jackal Ghillie Suit

As this is my first and (at this time) only ghillie suit, I don't have any prior experience with which to compare it, but I was well pleased when I received it. Unfortunately, I've yet to have an opportunity to use it in the woods so my observations are based only on wearing it around the house, and giggling at myself in the mirror. Ahem... Yes. Well, in any case... I'm short, like 5' 2" on a good day. I was concerned about the fit but this turned out not to be a problem. The suspenders allowed me to hike up the pants enough so they weren't tripping me and the rest fit this stumpy body of mine just fine. It is not 'silent' by any means. It does rustle. I don't know how it compares to other suits but, to me, it was akin to the rustling of dry leaves when I move. This kind of stealth obviously has limitations but I wasn't expecting it to turn me into the Predator. The only less-than-spectacular things about it that I've found so far are the buttons and buttonholes. The buttons are large and thin so I'm not sure how well they'll hold up with long-term use but it's not exactly something you wear every day so they may serve their purpose just fine. Several of the buttonholes were not properly opened, which prevented me from being able to button up the jacket. Careful use of an Xacto knife took care of that issue by cutting through the fabric between the stitching for the button holes. Minor points, really. I wish I could tell you how well it works in the field but I can't yet. I didn't buy it for hunting but instead for the purpose of getting close to nature when the opportunity arises and for catching habitual interlopers, like a dirt biker who was trespassing on our property. The dirt biker apparently got the hint with my deadfall blockades before I had a chance to photograph him and, perhaps, scare the bejeezus out of him.

I bought this as part of a Halloween costume for a Swamp themed party. I can definitely vouch for the quality of the construction and the comfort. It's not super hot, not itchy or anything, and can be worn for several hours at a time without any issues. I was happy with the value of the product and hope to get to use it again in the future.

My 14 yr old grandson loves it. Uses it for playing with friends with pellet guns. On recent snow in MD, scared the mess out of his friends who didn't see him. I was pleased it was exactly what he wanted. The cat thought he was a tree ... OUCH!

I’ve owned a number of gillie suits before. This one ranks as the best of them. Modern and tactical.

Very high quality suit - nice fit - uses tags of cloth rather than yarn like others so it doesn't get tangled. Too bad that the company can't keep up with the orders....always out of stock of the color I need.

Very good quality well made and not to hot. Extremely good blend when your in the woods.
