We purchased this submersible well pump because we compared the specs between this Chinese-made model and the American-made Shurflo that we needed to replace. The specs were identical, and so we gambled on the much less expensive Chinese model. This proved to be a serious mistake, as the first pump arrived with manufacturing defects that required an electrician to identify. The distributor replaced it with a second, which arrived with different problems. There's clearly a quality control problem with the Chinese-made pumps!Additionally, the pump arrived with no manual or instructions, and definitely no customer support.In the end, we returned it for a refund, less the 20% restocking fee (and all the time/expense of hauling water), and spent the money for a new Shurflo. When the Shurflo arrived, we tested it before installing it (as we had with the Chinese pumps). The Shurflo's motor was noticeably stronger than either of the Chinese pumps. So much for identical specs. They're just words on paper!

Hooked up 12 volt and lifting 45 feet it put out less water than I expected.

These pumps are well worth the money. Keep the screen clean and it will run for years. I have 4 of these pumps installed in 150 ft deep wells and they each work beautifully. They draw about 3 amps each on my 24v solar setup.
