Lot of computer for the money
purchased this to replace the same model that I bought for near the same price two years ago. Dropped the old one, in a case, and it hit a corner just right and broke a hinge and the screen. This one is actually in the identical case but it has two more gig of ram (4-6) and an updated processor. Now, these have intel processors but they are the reduced power econo-processors. Works fine as long as you aren't doing processor intense things. Speaking of the processor, the updated one actually performs worse than the one it replaced thus reduced rating. I replaced the optical drive with a 256G SSD and moved the boot files and apps to the SSD. It is a modification worth doing. Dramatically speeds boot-up and app performance. One can add an SSD without replacing the optical drive also. It has a slot in the ram bay for it if you get the right configuration. Oh, another positive is that it will run on the battery a very long time. Not sure it is the 12hrs claimed but it is a long time.

Reasonable for the price- a bit slow
This is my third ACER ASpire E15 notebook! I use it for work and it gets a lot of use- I purchased this one after the screen hinge on the left side suffered from metal fatigue and broke on my 2nd ACER aspire. The laptop @ that point was showing its age- one of the USB ports had gone to heaven and the touch pad was well touchy and intermittently difficult. Three years of heavy use is not a bad deal- I had purchased the old Ace Aspire in October 2016 for ~370 dollars. Over all for the use it held up pretty well- I also like the long battery life, the feel of the keyboard, and the extra number pad on the side for work. The new ACER cost just about as much as the old one- and I figured well after 3 years technology usually gets better and cheaper. It is slightly lighter and slimmer; however, it's not faster or markedly improved otherwise. The new laptop ran slooooooooooooow. Web pages too some time to boot up as did relatively simple applications. I had added RAM to the old one 8 GB of DDR4 and the new one came w/ 6 GB of DDR3. I was going to upgrade the ram but then recalled I'd put in a solid state hard drive in the old one. I couldn't believe it but the new one came without a solid state hard drive (stupid on me for not checking- I just figured after 3 years technology would have been further ahead) .Once I Swapped out the hard drives and it made a world of difference. Granted the solid state hard drive I have is 120 GB vs 1 TB that the laptop comes with but hey - do you really want to watch web pages and pictures load? I can always use an extra hard drive or use the cloud. What's more after 3 years of use I've only used up 10 GB of storage.I would sugges that ACER would be better off putting in a small capacity but faster hard drive to improve the value. I was a little disappointed that after three years the technology on the ACER end is essentially not improved and @ the same price. Having said that for the money its pretty good but if you want the thing to work quickly you'll probably want to do some modificiations. In 2020 I just can't see waiting for web pages to load - No its not my WIFI- the laptop with the solid state hard drive is instant. Unforunately the hard drive upgrade is a lot more intensive than simply adding RAM.

Great!
I only left this review because the product seems to have received some backlash. I purchased this for the company I work for. The price point is cheap, the resolution is great and the processing speed is good enough for my needs. I run 5 spread sheets on google docs, time scheduling website ,work communication program ( facebook for work ) all in the browser while connected to another computer via RDP and security camera software. All at the same time and I have no complaints.Am I pushing it? Yes maybe, but it works fine.

Great laptop
I did not get the touch screen laptop. I do like the features installed on the Acer Aspire and have made the transition from my HP Envy to this one with relative ease. The Windows 10 is an adjustment from Windows 7 but all in all the computer is working well. I really do like the higher pixels on the screen. Images are wonderfully clear and bright. Still need to download the manual as I cannot figure out some functions. I guess I'm just old fashioned, but I liked when manuals came with things. I still have a ways to go, but am enjoying the reliability and "dark screen" options.

Looked great
Everything was looking good with this laptop..I returned this laptop because of only one reason, the charger that came along with this was not working and I contacted customer service. They said that they can not provide a new charger so I have to return it like the way it came..so I did that..otherwise I really liked it..it was brand new and screen quality was very good..

Decent computer
This computer serves its purpose. It runs quick enough for someone like me but I could see it being a bit slow for someone who needs it in a hectic workspace. Ive ran the Sims on it with no problems. My biggest complaint is I purchased the computer thinking microsoft office was included only to realize that it required purchase. Perhaps my mistake, still a bummer. Anyways, not a bad buy for the average joe

vintage like but fast and updated
installed crucial flash drive and the boot up speed is lightning instant. drawbacks include no-touchscreen, no-backlit keyboard, and its weight (around 5 pounds). But, great value for the price with 15.6" screen, dvd, and upgradeable facility, 6gb ram, 1TBGB HDD. Screen seems a bit dull, but use Graphic settings to adjust the display and its very soft on eyes... Overall, very satisfied with the product.
