Review: Works perfectly with Lightning-headphones on Android devices, Windows10, Ubuntu, ChromeOS, DAPs... - The adapter may not be cheap but it does exactly what it has been advertised for. I saw a 3-star review and felt the urge to write a review to balance this a bit. To subtract 2 stars because it is not working with gear that it is not supposed to be compatible with is a bit unfair. The headsets it is designed for are clearly listed in the description. I am German and bought this adapter here because it wasn't available in Germany for some weeks - so excuse my English. I personally own the Audeze iSine 10 headphones with the 1st Gen. Lightning "Cipher"-cable, the Sennheiser Ambeo Smart headset and the Pioneer Rayz headphones. I normally use Android devices but also own an (old) iPad and iPod Touch. I bought some time ago an used iPhone SE for the sole purpose as a music player to benefit on the go from the sound quality improvement of the iSine cipher cable and to use the Ambeo headsets for noise cancelling, recording with their excellent awareness functionalities. This adapter allows me to finally use these Lightning headphones with my LG V30+ Android mobile phone and many other devices. Although not advertised for it, the adapter actually works with far more devices and operating systems than listed. There are minor limitations like the inline-remote controls skipping keys are not always recognized but essentially the headsets fulfill their purposes including using the mics for recording/phone calls. The lightning headphones have to be set up/initialized at least once with the corresponding iOS apps on i*-devices but then they remember the settings (internal equalizer of the cipher cable, key-switch-functionalities and noise cancelling defaults of the Ambeo set, etc.) when used on other devices. I successfully tested the above headsets with the adapter on Android: LG V30+, the Fiio M6 DAP, a cheap china phone with an USB-Cto-Micro-USB-OTG adapter ChromeOS: an older chromebook and a "chromeBit" (although for that one only one sampling-rate is supported) Linux: a PC with Ubuntu 18.04 (using an USB-A to USB-C adapter) DAPs: Hidizs AP60 (with micro-USB-OTG-adapter) and Shanling M0 (quite high battery usage in these cases) and two Windows 10 PCs It is important to note that this adapter is not a piece of cables only - it is an active device which acts as an USB-DAC. The Smartphone/PC etc. does not "see" the chip of the Lightning headset itself, instead it detects the chip of this adapter which converts the audio data for the headset connectors. At the other end of the cable, the adapter "fakes" an i*-device with a Lightning port - hence all modern MFI-Lightning-Audio headphones should work with it. The Adapter itself shows up on the PCs as an USB-Audio device without any need for driver installations. It is capable of (only) 48kHz or 44.1 kHz at 24 bit (no 16 bit setting available). The only incompatible device up to now is a more exotic RemixOS (x86-Android) computer which is a bit outdated anyhow. The only little flaw it has is that the cable is rather short and very stiff - hence it does not bend and always needs some additional space (image attached) For me, this is the perfect adapter I have wait a long time for and it exceeds me expectations w.r.t. compatibility by far. I actually don't know any alternative to this adapter and thus recommend it to anyone with the same sets of Lightning headsets and devices.
Review: Perfect for enabling iPad earphones to be used with all iPads - My experience so far is that this is a robust, good quality product enabling me to connect iPad earphones with lightning connector to an IPad Pro with USB-C connector. The adaptor has led to no loss of quality for either listening or speaking and has been excellent for listening to music and participating in online meetings. As I switch between iPads with different connections it is important that the adaptor will stand up to repeated plugging and unplugging. I can’t vouch for the quality of the connectors in this regard but the plastic casing gives the impression of a well made product that should give years of life. Whether this justifies the price is a matter of conjecture. Other products reviewed suggest that flimsiness leads to problems. I made my purchasing decision based on perceived quality and do not regret my decision.

The adapter may not be cheap but it does exactly what it has been advertised for. I saw a 3-star review and felt the urge to write a review to balance this a bit. I am German and bought this adapter here because it wasn't available in Germany for some weeks - so excuse my English. I personally own the Audeze iSine 10 headphones with the 1st Gen. My experience so far is that this is a robust, good quality product enabling me to connect iPad earphones with lightning connector to an IPad Pro with USB-C connector.
