No, these diffusers do not have a built-in check valve. This must be purchased separately. Best Regards Frederik Team STATTRAND **Q: Had a few months. now stopped and pops off with co2 pressure. any ideas?** A: I had allooot of β€˜fun’ working out how to get the right amount of CO2 in to the tank. I found that I needed to a use a timed (excuse spelling) solo pod or timed regulator so that it could turn on up to 4 hours prior to the time the Co2 is needed to start in the tank ( about an hour befor the lights turn on) this gave enough time for very gradual increase in pressure avoiding the whole thing popping apart. This also meant that I got a sensible amount coming in to the tank avoiding killing live stock. Eventually I also super glued the tube to the various bits so that it could take the pressure. My final thought was that the suggested rubber tubing is not very good as it expands under pressure. This means it take to long to build up pressure, increases chance of it popping apart and leads to a massive rush of Co2 coming in to the tank when it first comes though. So, very slow build up of Co2 in system over many hours, super glue and replacing the rubber tube with harder plastic tube from Co2 art.
