Functional, but mediocre quality
I am very pleased with my purchase of this product. I wanted an inexpensive but functional external housing for my full height 5.25" optical drive. I also needed a unit operated by a separate power supply as the computer this will connect to does not have USB 3.0. This unit satisfied my needs and lets me connect to my drive as needed. While I can appreciate the comments of several other posters about poor quality, my sample is sufficiently functional for my purposes - I was able to install my drive in the unit, connect the cables, and read data from a few optical discs (CD, DVD, BD). I did note that the connectors are all of poor quality so I will try not to move them around much or cycle the connections too many times. Also, while there is a fan, there is no obvious vents to allow air to actually flow; the seeming result is that the fan only serves to pressurize the housing and make noise. If I notice the unit getting hot, I may cut some vents of my own; if not, I may disconnect the power to the fan to reduce the noise. I have not yet tried to burn a disc. If I have issues with burning a disc, I will update my post.

Works great and like the fact I can turn my BD burner off when I'm not using it. The fan is an added bonus

Total garbage.
Made VERY poorly. The proprietary power plug on the back is so poorly constructed that the plug will not even go in all of the way. It easily disconnects which is not only annoying but very bad for both the computer and the drive itself.The "cooling" fan is so bad it scrapes against itself and makes a loud whirring and banging noise as it turns.The front bezel snapped in half when I was gingerly trying to slide it off to put a drive in.Seriously, this thing is a piece of junk and this company should be ashamed of themselves.AVOID!

Just as described, nice clean enclosure. Quite and slim, get one if want a sleek looking piece of hardware at low price.
