Aspects are great, others not so much
First, let me explain how the book is organized. Dad takes a turn trying to get the kid (or kids) to laugh in three ways: Telling some jokes, doing a few madlibs (which the kids pick the words for), and acting out some silly scenarios. Afterwards, the kid (or kids) do the same activities and Dad tries not to laugh (i.e., jokes, madlibs, and scenarios). The jokes are really disappointing and neither Dad nor the kids ever laughed at any of them. They are really a waste of time. The madlibs are kind of hit or miss and it depends a great deal on the creativity and vocabulary of whoever is saying the words to fill in. Some of the stories are really well written, others are meh.The scenarios, on the other hand, are quite fun and hilarious. By far, these get the kids and dad to laugh the most and are also most susceptible to creative liberty (which adds to the fun and hilarity). For example, Dad has to pretend he's a robot who gets spilled on and then goes haywire (Dad may have started "putting his hands in the air like he just don't care"). It is kind of like gestures but you can use sounds and whatever props you want. You do have to be comfortable with acting silly and doing bizarre things, but all of my kids (under age 8), laughed pretty hard at nearly every one.So overall I think this product has potential for great fun if the jokes are skipped entirely and the madlibs are done with a lot of creativity. The only downside is the replay value is quite low. For these reasons, I gave it 3 stars.

Fun and Educational! Teacher Recommended!
Very cute idea. Quality of book is meh. Itโs in perfect new condition, just has awkward font and squished margins that look โhome-published.โ I donโt think my son will notice; Iโm picky. As an ELA educator and mom of an 8 yo, I would recommend switching the Father and Kid sections so that the harder jokes are read by the kid for the dad to guess. I think some may go over an 8 year oldโs head. That said, they are all appropriate and pretty thoughtful. I appreciate that. I am also curious why it says you can play with more than one kid, but the set up and scoring only allows one child to play.Overall, Great way to get my son to enjoy reading and with his dad as a role model! (look up the research on that!) He loves graphic novels and they are both silly! I bought one for them, and one my father to read with my goofy younger brothers as well.

Jokes are kinda lame.
My daughter is 9years old and finds the jokes are kinda lame. We are a joke telling family and none of us seem to find anything funny

Not terrible for the price just not super funny
Husband and son found some funny jokes in there but there are a decent amount that aren't really funny and do not work with the age - 10 year old son.

Lots of fun!
We had a great time with this book! My youngest son and my husband live to prank each other so this book was really good for them. Perfect gift for Dads!

Tons of laughs, but tons of grammatical errors
My husband and step-daughter (6) love this book. They go through a "round" every night before bed. It does seem to cater to the child (the jokes my husband reads to her are DEFINITELY not as funny) and there are some grammatical errors (that the 6 year old pointed out), but they enjoy themselves, so it is definitely a great buy!

Terrible execution of a great idea
It's called 'Don't Laugh' and don't worry, you won't. This is a great concept marred by terrible jokes. My 8 year old bored quickly or it and so did I. You can blame my delivery but that only goes so far! We quickly moved on from this Christmas Day activity.
